Eula wasn't the first girl that I had feelings for. There were many girls growing up that had feelings for me. When I did the same, I never knew quite how to go about it so I stayed quiet.

My dad would give me grief about it from time to time, while my brother James would look me dead in the eye and ask me, "That girl Jenna has been literally throwing herself at your feet, but you haven't paid attention to her at all. What's wrong with you?"

"I want to be ready when the time comes," I say. "I feel like when a girl wants me, she'll be completely sure that's what she wants. Then I won't have to feel worried about it."

James only laughed and said, "Be careful what you wish, man. By the time you find the girl do your dreams, you might not even know what to do with her. Especially when she's dangling from your car, holding onto your leg, while you and your friends are trying to drive away. Then meeting you at the airport, wondering why you didn't call."

...

Now I had this girl, and it was very clear from her behavior that she was in love with me even though I never saw her. Dropping me from unknown heights if even so much looked in the direction of a woman. Crying when I look in the direction of another girl. I spend my time hiding from her on the ship, but when I hear her groans, I feel frustrated, exclaiming out loud, and throwing my hands up in the air.

"ENOUGH!" I yell. "I've had it."

The sea is eerily silent, but I continue with my tirade.

"It's not going to make me love you anymore to keep hearing your complaints and seeing you upset like this," I say. "Marriage and relationships are hard work. You have to be a whole person before you get into a relationship with somebody. You do understand that right?"

There seems to be a light breeze as the Naomi-Tree listens to my words, and I feel a sigh of relief as I rest my head on the bar top. Listening to the cheer of kids as they run in and out of the water fountains by the pool, I expect this to be a moment of peace and clarity until I hear a voice over the intercom that is high-pitched and whiny. It sounds like it is coming from a young child's voice, which I can only assume to be Claire from the way Carmen DeAngelo runs around yelling at the sky, saying, "Claire! Get down from there! This is not funny!"

The Longing of Queen Naomi

Once upon a time, in the far reaches of space, there was the lush green world of Emgralore run by the beautiful Queen Naomi. She had everything you could imagine - servants, an assortment of dresses, a plethora of different sweets and treats, as well as an army of kittens that followed her around, ready to throw themselves at unsuspecting visitors, which posed a threat.

The only thing she didn't have? Someone to share her life with. She longed for the love of her life to share her beautiful world with her. She needed a prince. The magic portal showed the image of a stunning blonde young man who was surrounded by mountains. She was determined to find the love of her life rather than to stare deeply into her rotting 30-something face.

She had a ball and decided to invite everyone - guardians, wizards, and mortal royals alike. The Guardian Demigods, being all selfish and vain wanted to dress to the 9's because it had been centuries since they had partied. The Wizards, believing themselves to be more deep and philosophical than anyone else, watched from the sidelines and scoffed at those who came in flashing their jewels and wealth. As for the humans? They, too, were full of themselves, flaunting their various lineages that nobody cared any bit for.

Spinela was unhappy with the state of the ball muttering to herself, "What travesty is this? She could have gone out much more with the aesthetics. I am the Guardian of Creativity so I am going to spin my own tale. I wouldn't dare allow my realm to be humiliated by you human-looking things wanting to go."
