"God, I'm fucking starving." Soonyoung whined, his stomach growling.

Jun glanced at him from the back. "Didn't you eat before we left?"

"I wouldn't put it past him," Joshua agreed, the older male watching the scenery pass by with narrowed eyes.

"I was nervous," Soonyoung replied, rubbing his stomach. "I didn't want to throw up on the bus."

"Ew, gross," Seungkwan said, wrinkling his nose.

"I'm sure we'll stop for food soon," Chan added, looking up from his book.

Seungcheol chuckled and shook his head. The group had been riding for over an hour now, and the sky was growing darker. The bus turned sharply onto a narrower road, the trees on either side closing in. "Out here?" He chuckled like he didn't plan anything.

"Hey, I don't remember being told this was a horror movie," Joshua said, his voice barely audible above the noise of the bus.

Seungkwan shot him an exasperated look. "This is a bad time to joke about that, hyung."

Jun was busy digging in his bag.

"It's not a joke," Joshua replied, his expression serious. "We're literally in the middle of nowhere, and I don't see any lights ahead."

Seungkwan looked out the window, the sun was setting and the light was dimming. "It's pretty dark, but I doubt we will die. Right? Seungcheol hyung—right?"

"Right," Seungcheol replied. The leader didn't elaborate, leaving everyone on edge.

Vernon raised an eyebrow, shifting in his seat. "Are you sure about that?"

"Positive," Seungcheol answered, a grin appearing on his face. "Don't worry, we're almost there."

Seungkwan let out a sigh of relief, slumping back in his seat.

Minghao glanced around, his expression unreadable. "I'm starting to think he's messing with us," the Chinese boy said.

The bus slowed, then turned again, this time onto a bumpy gravel road. Jihoon opened his eyes again only to close them again.

Jun finally pulled a few snacks from his bag and tossed them at Soonyoung. The man was practically drooling over the idea of eating. He jumped to catch the bags of chips and the chocolate bars.

"Babyyy," Soonyoung said, quickly shoving a protein bar into his mouth. "How did you know?"

Seungkwan wrinkled his nose. "Gross." He knew he wanted some of those.

"I knew you'd come hungry," his best friend said matter-of-factly. He knew Soonyoung well enough.

Soonyoung blushed.

Minghao rolled his eyes.

Jihoon was still sleeping.

Soonyoung laughed, tossing the second chocolate bar over to Seungkwan.

"You've been complaining for the last 20 minutes," Seungkwan decided to hate, rolling his eyes. "I bet he figured he'd save his ears." Seungkwan caught the bar and tore into it.

Soonyoung's eye twitched. He reached for his bar, but Seungkwan snickered and kept it.

"Give me my shit back, bitch!" Soonyoung reached across the aisle, swiping for the bar.

Seungkwan dodged him and held it above his head. "I was joking! Relax!"

Soonyoung tried jumping for it, but the bus hit a pothole, sending him flying backward.
