"Uh, I don't know about that, Chloe."

"Oh, come on! She's not that bad, Johnny. I promise you you'll love her!" Chloe pleaded as she followed Johnny throughout the music store.

"I've heard a lot about her Chloe. Even some people who hang out with her don't like her."

Chloe frowned, stopping herself from following her boyfriend. She looked down at the floor in disappointment.

Johnny noticed but didn't stop organizing the vinyls. As bad as he felt for her, he stood by what he said. Chloe came by the store to bring him his lunch (she offered to do so every lunch break, and Johnny definitely couldn't say no) and came up with the conversation. She's been going at it for five minutes now.

Johnny wasn't annoyed at her or upset about the topic he just didn't want to face Rachel Amber just yet, he knew this would make him a huge red flag in Rachel's eyes but he didn't care about what she thought. Only Chloe.

At the same time, she was asking him to meet Rachel because she was suspicious of him, and to that reason, he already knew he wasn't going to satisfy her needs, no matter how upset it made Chloe, either way he was going to find a way to make her happy again later in the day.

"Johnny. Please. It's not just for Rachel, I want you to meet my friends!" Chloe pleaded again.

Johnny let out a sigh, seeing how amusing it was to see Chloe trying so hard. He turned to her and kissed her forehead with a shake of his head, "I can't sweetheart, not only for the reason I just told you, I have to see my family tonight, I was going to tell you about it too but you have other plans with Rachel as I see."

Chloe kept her gaze on him, thinking what else to say to convince him, but she was now out of ideas. She knew she couldn't convince him, and she didn't want to force him into something he didn't want to do.

Chloe nodded, "Okay, okay, I'm sorry..."

Johnny put down the remaining vinyls he had left and cupped her face with gentle hands, looking at her lovingly, "Don't be sorry, sweet, sweet Chloe -"

Chloe snickered at the nickname, making him do the same as he continued on.

"As much as I would love to go with you to see Rachel, I have my input on her even if you think differently, I can see her another time with you if you want?"

"I know you're only saying this to make me feel better..." Chloe moved away from his grip and found a place in the store to stare at, "It's fine, Johnny, I didn't really want to do this anyway." She sighed through her nose.

She backed away and fiddled with her ring on her index finger, "But, you said you had a family dinner, right? I'd love to meet your family." She smiled, looking up at him.

Johnny smiled widely and nodded, "I'd love for you to come by, I'll pick you up tonight."

"What time? It'll give me time to shower and all that shit."

"The dinner starts at eight, and I'll be picking you up at seven fifty. Just wear something casual. You don't need anything fancy."

Chloe nodded, pulling out her sharpie and writing it on her hand. This had Johnny chuckle as she did, telling him to 'shut the hell up'. Once Chloe put her marker away, she went up to Johnny and gave him a passionate kiss before pulling back and leaving the store.

"Love you too, Chloe!" Johnny called out in a humorous tone, raising his arms.

Chloe turned back, the door already opened, "Ah yes, Love you, Johnny!"

Johnny rushed to the window of the store and watched Chloe leave. He didn't know where to, but he had a little hunch - she was going to Rachel fucking Amber. He sighed as he went back to organizing the vinyls before he finished his shift.
