Chapter 10: Drowning in your sweet love.

(If your like me don't think of the title pervertely it'll make sense later 😂😉)

Marissa/Darwin pov.

I got a note from (Darwin/Marissa) to meet me by the pool side at the end of school. 

Marissa pov.

Ugh what does he want now.

Darwin pov.

So I went to the pool like the note told me but she wasn't there.

I didn't know why she would want to meet at the pool when she knows I cant swim but I didn't care I wanted to see her because maybe she was going to tell me she did actually want me instead of my brother. But it was Friday and she was late. I had to get to Mark's house for the first high school party at 6 and it was 5:30.

Where is she?

I took a picture out of my wallet of me and (unknown character). I tore the picture a bit through the middle but not completely and before I could put it back the wind blows it into the pool... OH NO. 

When I try and reach for it before I know it, I fall in.

Marissa pov.

When I get there I look around and don't see Darwin anywhere. I keep looking deeper and deeper into the pool and oddly enough I see a weird shadow. It finally rises to the surface and I see what it was, or should I say who.

"Darwin!" I scream.

He was in the pool floating like a dead fish. I knew he couldn't swim but he's known for such twisted jokes like this.

"Stop messing around and get your butt back over here to the side of the pool!" I yell again. 

It was no use, he wasn't faking. I decide to jump in after him, school clothes and all. But when I finally drag him to the side of the pool I realize he wasn't breathing.

I was so scared out of my mind! What if he was dead all the terrible things I've said to him, I felt awful and wanted to cry. 

"Don't you die on me! Don't you die!"  I kept screaming pushing on his chest. 

But then it hit me, my old swim couch told me "When the body is unconscious to perform CPR immediately."

"Idiot." I say to myself as I lay his limp body down flat. 

Sydney pov.

"I promise Jackson, Marissa is over here by the pool with Darwin, and there alone come see for yourself." I say to Jackson. 

I planted a note in both Darwin and Marissa's locker telling them to meet by the pool, where I will bring Jackson to witness her being a slut shes not stealing my man if I can't have hers. 

We walk through the pool gates and its better then I thought. She was lips to lips with my man, not looking so well for her.

"Oh that's disgusting! This has gone way to far! Get a room!!" I say sounding sympathetic to Jackson.

"Wait that cant be right somethings wrong" he says.

She looks up at us and practically yells "Jackson! thank goodness your here hurry call 911!" 

Umm I'm literally standing right here, Why couldn't she have told me to call 911 That's my bae shes lips to lips with.  She also needs to take a chill pill and stop screaming honestly the f**k is wrong with her?!

Before Jackson can pull out his phone Darwin starts to breath and we all have a little sigh of relief.

Marissa's pov.

(At the nurses office)

Nurse Turner: "He's going to be fine, but it was a good job on your part Marissa. If you didn't perform CPR when you did he would have a pretty slim chance at not dieing right now." She says.

Nurse Turner also none as Rebecca, Is only 19 years old but works as our school nurse. Because of her age she prefers people to call her Rebecca. She has a pretty weird relationship with Darwin, they act like brother and sister maybe a little closer.

"Thanks again for saving me Marissa, I love you baby!" Darwin says on the school nurse bed.

Before I could reply to him Rebecca slaps him in the back of his head and says "Will you keep your mouth shut for once and get some rest!"

"Owee Rebeccaaa that's no way to treat a guy that almost drowned today, I didn't even get to go to the first high school party of the year." He says rubbing his head.

"Anyone stupid enough to get that close to the water knowing they can't swim probably needs some sense knocked into them!" She argues back.

Me and Jackson decide to slip out while they argue. Sydney already left to go to the party but oddly enough Jackson offered to drive me home because my bus left.

While he was driving it got a bit awkward with 'No place I'd rather be' playing I could think of a couple of places id rather be right now.

He caught me giving Darwin CPR, I bet he thinks it was more then that. I sigh out loud and he looks at me and says "Darwin was lucky you were there for him today."

"Yea" I say But quickly finish "I mean if I didn't save him he would be dead and I couldn't live with that on my conscious."

He looks at me then back at the road, Ugh I couldn't understand or read him! His face expression was blank.  I can't tell if I'll ever have a chance with him. Maybe I should just give up.

"You should know Marissa, I over heard your conversation with Darwin the other day behind the bushes at the front of the school."

Behind the bushes? What hairnet the other day? I thought back to what I said OH NO! HE HEARD ME SAY I LIKED HIM!!!!! this is so embarrassing!

"You know I kind of have a thing for sweet girls with brown eyes and save other guys from drowning and umm... wait that sounded bad didn't it. Ok let me try again, I have a thing for sweet girls who wear black flats and skinny jeans and umm." He says choking on his words.

I couldn't help but laugh but my cheeks were turning a different shade of red. 

"What I'm trying to say is, I like you, Do you maybe want to go on a date with me?" He said more red then I've ever seen him. 

OMG! can somebody PINCH ME BECAUSE I AM DREAMING!!!!

The guy I like actually liked me back! I couldn't stop smiling, my cheeks began to hurt I couldn't help my heart beat so fast the rhythm was faster then the song that was playing.

YES!!!!!

"Sure." I say nonchalantly.
