Chapter 14: Party?

Abby pov.

I quickly jumped out my mothers van with my adopted sister Aaliyah, we ran into the front office and the first thing we heard when walking into the beautiful huge building known as Garden Grove High was the first bell.

We were late, again.

The lady in the front of the desk looked at us like we just came from the circus.

"Hi, my name is Abby Brown and this is my sister Aaliyah Brown Sorry we are late but we're new and were wondering if we could get our schedules here." I said trying to be as sweet and confident as possible.

She just looked at us and slowly looked back at her computer screen as if she heard nothing I just said. She surprisingly got up from her drone chair and walked to her printer were she scribbled something on the two sheets of paper she had in her hands.

She walked back to her chair and blankly starred at her computer screen and without looking she quickly handed me the paper that had our schedules on them.

"Are these our schedules?" I asked knowing that they were.

She still continued to ignore me when a boy walked up behind me. 

"Don't mind Ms. Gladess she hates her job, ain't that right Gladess." The boy says to the lady. 

She simply looks at him then back at her computer.

"Surprised your not in detention with Darwin Hood, Mark." She says for the first time to the boy who I guess was named Mark.

"Oh Gladess you know I would never go anywhere without you baby." He says winking at her. 

I giggle and Aaliyah makes a bored annoyed face. Aaliyah wasn't the best at coming out of her shell so sometimes people mistake her for stuck up, but she's very responsible. I'm not sure if she's accepted me just yet as her new sister but I try my best to get to know her.

Mark takes a paper from Ms.Gladess and looks at Aaliyah and I.

"I can show you guys around if you want, what am I saying of coures you want me to show you around, come on." He says grabbing Aaliyah and my hand dragging us out the office and into the deserted hallway.

Aaliyah yanked her hand away and looked at me as if to say 'is this guy serious?!' I looked at her giving her the 'Be nice' face. 

"Thanks but I think we can find our way around without your help." Aaliyah says grabbing my hand going in the opposite direction of him.

He runs after us and says "Wait you might actually want my help, your already late. Teachers don't care if your new or not if your late your late." He said flat out.

He then smiled a sly smile "Of course with a escort like me they let you off the hook, just sayin." He says very persuasively.

I think about it and it turns out he's right, we know nothing about this school. I look at Aaliyah and give her the 'just go with it face.' She rolled her eyes and sighed.

"Ok whatever." She says crossing her arms.

He gets a huge bright smile and says "Right this way ladies." as he sticks out his arm indicating to walk in front of him.

He looks at my schedule and finds a room that has the same numbers as my 1st period class. Aaliyah decides to wait outside because its not her class but Mark comes and tells the teacher I'm new. The teacher got up from his chair and gets ready to introduce me to the class.

"Everyone this is Abby Brown, she's new so make her feel welcomed." The teacher says to the class. He then turned and looked at me and says "You can find a seat anywhere."

"Ok Thank you." I say and wave good-bye to Mark.

I look around the plain classroom and notice three familiar faces. I walk up to them and notice its Marissa, Liam, and Kate.

"Hey guys remember me?" I say sitting in a empty seat next to Liam.

Marissa and Liam seemed to remember me immediately but Kate didn't look to pleased when she saw me.

"Hey Abby! how have you been? Its been 2 years right?" Marissa asked.

"Yeah My family and I had to move because we were adopting Aaliyah my new sister but we came back here so my dad could get his job back." I explain

"Liam you remember, I spent my last night at your house and we... hung out." I said remembering that Kate busted through the door of Liam's room the night me and Liam were making out.

"Yeah I missed you over the years." he said playfully punching my arm. Kate just sat back in her chair starring at me, it became uncomfortable.

"Oh Abby sense your here you can come to my party next Friday." Marissa says excitedly.

"Your having a party?" Kate says confused.

Marissa immediately gets a apologetic face "Yeah I was going to ask you and Liam if you wanted to come and I know what happened to the last party you went to but hear me out." she says trying to get her words out fast before Kate could interrupt.

"I don't know Marissa." Liam says biting his lip, he was still as sexy as ever.

"I know I know but listen, this party could be like a due over it will be safe I promise not some reckless party." She says pouting her lip.

"Marissa, I.." before Kate can finish Marissa interrupts and says "Plllleeeaaasssseeeeeeeeeeee!!"

"But last time it..." Marisa interrupts Liam as well and continues to say "Pleeaaaaasssssssseeeeeeee!!!"

"Come on K, you know I wont have fun without my boo thang dancing with me. The party will suck without you please come." Marissa says with a bigger pouty lip. 

Kate reasons with herself and gives in, she sighs and says "Fine."

Marissa jumps for joy but Liam has a worried expression on his face.

"Well if she's going I'm going." He says looking even more concerned at Kate.

I have no idea what that was all about but this party sounded fun "I'm in." I smile excited for the party

"Great!!" Marissa says writing our names on a piece of paper that had even more names on it.

Aaliyah pov.

I was walking with Mark to my 1st period class in silence.

"So hey, theres this party next Friday I was thinking of going but realized I don't have anybody to go with. So Ill pick you up at 7 and..." before anymore crap could come out of this guys mouth I quickly put my finger over his lips.

"I don't think so sir, I'm not going to any party especially not with you." I say as I continued to walk down the hallway searching for my class.

I look back to see him stunned but he starts to smile and nudge it off "Yes ma'am." He says intrigued.

We stop at a classroom door and before I walk in he grabs my arm and says "I'm serious about that party invitation though." he says more seriously and looks me deep in his eyes.

I just look at him and say "Ill think about it."

He slowly lets go of my arm and smiles a toothy smile. I walk into the classroom and sit in the back thinking if I should actually go, I probably won't its not my thing.
