"And since you mentioned I'm Agnihotri, you should know the powers I possess." My throat went dry as he spoke, and my heart filled with frustration towards...

KASHI'S POV
I cradled Reyaan in my arms, my heart aching as I cooed softly, "Alle alle, why is my little one crying?" His tiny fists were clenched, his face scrunched up with tears streaming down his cheeks. Each sob tore at me.
"Papa..." His cries grew louder, his small voice breaking as he called for Adhikrit, who had just left the room. My chest tightened painfully. "Mumma is here, baby. Don't cry," I whispered, trying to soothe him, rocking him gently.
But it was no use. His cries grew more desperate. "Papa..." He whimpered again, his little body shaking with sobs. When he started holding his breath between the sobs, panic gripped me. "Reyaan, Baba, please," I pleaded, feeling utterly helpless, tears threatening to spill from my own eyes. My baby was hurting, and there was nothing I could do to stop it.
"Papa..." he screamed, and I felt like the worst person in the world. His cries always scrambled my thoughts, and the guilt washed over me. I blamed myself for his pain.
"Shh, my love... it's okay," I murmured, adjusting my dupatta and freeing myself from my blouse so he could nurse. As he latched on, his sobs softened into whimpers, and his body relaxed, but the tears kept rolling down his chubby cheeks.
I took a deep, shaky breath and leaned back, utterly exhausted. After nursing him, I'd gone downstairs to help the servants prepare breakfast while Ranvijay watched over him.
Mr Agnihotri left for work early as usual. I had hoped for a bit more sleep, but Reyaan had other plans. His cries shattered my dream of sleeping in peace.
Now, here I was again, rocking my grumpy baby. He had caught only a glimpse of his father before he rushed out to grab his file, but that small moment was enough for Reyaan. He was completely attached to his distant, aloof father.
A memory surfaced from a month ago. I had held Reyaan close, asking him playfully, "Who do you love the most, baby?"
"Pa... aa... aaappaa... papaa," he had stammered, his tiny voice struggling to form the word. My heart had skipped a beat. His first word.
"Reyaan?" I had asked, barely believing it. He had repeated the word, and I had burst into tears, overwhelmed by the bond he shared with a father who hardly noticed him. It was a bittersweet moment, realizing that even though Adhikrit kept his distance, Reyaan adored him.
My thoughts were interrupted by Reyaan's soft voice, "Maaahammaaa." I blinked away the tears in my eyes and looked down at him. He was pouting again, fresh tears welling up.
"What is it, baby?" I asked softly, shifting him to my other side. He latched on again, completely forgetting the tantrum he had just thrown.
My phone buzzed, shaking me from my thoughts. It was Ruhi.
