KASHI'S POV

"I'm leaving for the office." Mr. Agnihotri stood up and wiped his lips with a tissue.

Everyone nodded, but I looked down, swallowing hard. Today, I'd escape. From the moment I woke up, I'd felt anxious.

I sensed someone staring at me. I looked up to find Mr. Agnihotri watching me. I quickly shifted my gaze away to seem inconspicuous.

We usually don't make eye contact, so why was he watching me now?

No, Kashi, don't let anyone catch on to what you're planning.

I heard his footsteps as he was leaving, but he stopped to mutter something to Ranvijay.

We had finished eating. Dad went to his political office, and Mom had plans with her friends, so she left with Nandini.

Lucky me. I was alone.

I went to my room, wanting to take a nap, but sleep wouldn't come. The kurti I was wearing was itching me terribly. I paced around like a rabbit, scratching my neck repeatedly.

I needed something more comfortable to wear. I checked my closet, but it was filled with uncomfortable clothes. Frustrated, I decided to ask someone to bring me something suitable.

I went to the hall and found Ranvijay. He was sitting in an awkward position, spreading his arms and legs, just like Mr. Agnihotri.

"I want comfortable clothes," I said, folding my arms across my chest.

He tossed his phone onto the couch and sat up properly.

"What do you mean by comfortable?" he asked.

"Something loose, like a T-shirt," I replied, walking away.

After exactly ten minutes, he brought me a grey shirt. It was enormous. He also brought a plate of fruit.

"Aren't you eating a lot of apples these days?" he asked, handing me the plate.

"It's the baby who eats them," I said, pressing my lips into a thin line. He raised an eyebrow at me.

I kept my expression neutral. No one should know my true intentions.

He left, and I quickly shut the door. I changed into the oversized shirt. It was very loose, which was perfect. I paired it with black leggings and slippers to avoid drawing attention.

I braided my hair loosely and took a bite of the apple before throwing the rest away, making sure to hide it carefully.

About an hour later, I peeked outside. It was around noon. The cleaning staff had probably left, and the cooking staff was busy in the kitchen. The gardener would have returned to his room in front of the house. This was the perfect time.

But where was Ranvijay?

I took a risk and walked into the hall. It was empty, so maybe he had left.

For the next ten minutes, there would be no one around, like every day at this time. I quietly moved to the back of the house, making sure no one was around. This was when shifts changed, so no bodyguards would be on the upper floors.
