KASHI'S POV

"Mam, please let me in," Ruhi pleaded, her voice filled with desperation. I sighed, shaking my head for what felt like the hundredth time. "I won't."

"But Mam, can I at least check what Ranvijay Sir got for you?" she asked, her eyes wide with curiosity. I denied her again, my voice firm. "No, I'm not telling you anything. Ranvijay doesn't report to him about what I do, but you do. That's why I'm not sharing anything with you."

"Now, leave," I said sharply, watching as she nodded, disappointmented.

"Mam, please, at least keep those with you," she said, pointing at the four huge babies sitting quietly on the floor, their innocent eyes flicking between us.

My heart softened as I looked at them. My poor babies, I thought, smiling at how much they've grown. The three German Shepherds and the Mastiff had become my friends now. They were so cute, my heart melted just looking at them. They were not cute earlier but now there were.

I remembered the night the Mastiff had protected me. I gave him the name Stormy, representing how he saved me in the dark. And the Shepherds-oh, they were just as special. The one with the black eyes was Jet, the one with grey eyes was Cloud, and the completely brown one, Bea. Each had their own little trait, making them all the more precious to me.

Jet and cloud were a mix of brown and balck. Bea was completely broken and Stormy was black.

I was surprised to learn that Stormy was just five days older than the others. When Mr. Agnihotri mentioned Stormy was older, I'd imagined a difference of years, not days.

"Aww, my babies," I cooed, my voice soft with affection. They responded with excited growls, stumbling to their feet and tumbling toward me, eager for attention.

"Come on, let's spend some time without Ruhi today," I said, ruffling their tiny heads. They leaned into my hand, their warm bodies pressing closer, making my heart swell with joy. They were so adorable, I couldn't help but smile.

"Mam, take care of yourself," Ruhi called out, just as I closed the door on her concerned face. She acted as if someone might burst in and harm me at any moment. Ridiculous.

"Boys, go sit in a corner while I decorate the room," I instructed. They whined in protest, but eventually obeyed, moving to sit in the corner, their tails wagging.

"Good boys," I said, looking at them with a smile. They wiggle their tails in response, making me chuckle softly.

"Yes, finally I'm done," I whispered, my heart swelling with pride as I looked around our room. It looked so beautiful, like something out of a dream. I scattered red roses from the bedroom door all the way to the bed, where I had created a delicate art using flowers and fairy lights. The 'I,' the heart in the middle, and the 'U' at the end-everything looked so perfect, so romantic. The golden fairy lights draped around the bed gave the whole scene a magical glow, making my heart flutter with excitement.
