Months passed, and Rachel was still on her mission to find the perfect guy bestie. She had made several attempts, but none had really clicked. Today, she sat with Rosé and Jennie in their usual spot at the campus café, sipping on her iced latte while they chatted about classes.
(Rachel's outfit)As she gazed out the window, Rachel's eyes landed on a guy who instantly stood out from the rest. He had this effortless charisma about him - tall, about 5'10", with tousled brown hair and a warm smile that seemed to light up his face. There was something different about him compared to the other guys she had tried befriending.
"Who's that?" she muttered, more to herself than to her friends.
"Who's what?" Rosé asked, following Rachel's gaze.
"That guy over there," Rachel said, nodding in his direction.
Jennie looked over and raised her eyebrows. "Oh, him. That's Felix Lee. He's super popular around here. Handsome, right?"
Rosé smirked. "Very dreamy, isn't he?"
Rachel blinked, slightly embarrassed at being so obvious. "Yeah, I mean, he seems different. Maybe I'll try talking to him."
"You think you'll have a shot at making him your bestie?" Jennie teased. "He's probably surrounded by girls."
Rachel smiled softly. "I don't know. But it doesn't hurt to try."
Her friends exchanged curious glances but didn't say anything more. Rachel was determined to give it a shot. Felix seemed like the kind of guy who was out of reach for most people, but something about his warmth intrigued her. She wasn't trying to date him - just to see if they could form a genuine friendship. That was all she wanted.
"I'm going to go talk to him," Rachel said confidently, standing up.
Rosé and Jennie watched with interest, leaning closer to the table as if this were the most entertaining thing that had happened all day.
Rachel walked over to where Felix was sitting, his head down as he scrolled through his phone. She cleared her throat softly, and Felix looked up, his warm eyes locking onto hers. He had a soft, kind smile, and it only made her more nervous.
"Hi, sorry to bother you," Rachel began, trying to sound casual. "I was just wondering... what's your name?"
Felix raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. "Felix," he replied, his voice soft but confident. "Felix Lee."
Rachel nodded, her heart racing a little. "Nice to meet you, Felix. I'm Rachel."
"Nice to meet you too, Rachel," he said, flashing her that sweet, almost shy smile. "Did you need something?"
Rachel's mind raced. "Uh, I was just curious. I've seen you around and, well, you seem like a cool guy. I'm trying to make more friends, so I thought I'd say hi."
