Shaurya entered the house, his shoulders heavy with the burden of office work. Mukesh, the loyal servant, approached him with a glass of water. Shaurya, sensing something was off, noticed Mukesh's somber expression.
"Mukesh, what's wrong? You look sad," Shaurya asked, concerned.
Mukesh hesitated but finally spoke, "Palki Madam seemed upset today. She went to Karishma Maam's room."
Shaurya's heart skipped a beat. Without wasting any time, he rushed upstairs to their room, where Palki was sitting, lost in thought.
"Palki," Shaurya called, startling her.
"Shaurya! What happened? You look tense," Palki asked, worry creasing her forehead.
"I should be asking you that! Why are you tense?" Shaurya countered, trying to lighten the mood.
Palki smiled faintly, "Are you copying me now?"
"Maybe I am," Shaurya teased. "But seriously, Palki, tell me what's wrong."
"It's nothing big," Palki brushed off. "Just a small matter."
"If it's bothering you, it's not small to me," Shaurya insisted, sitting beside her. "You can share anything with me."
"You're so stubborn," Palki sighed, unable to resist his persistence.
"And you're just as stubborn," Shaurya retorted playfully. "Come on, tell me."
Palki took a deep breath, "Karishma Maasi is upset with me. I went to her room to apologize, but I still don't understand what I did wrong."
Shaurya frowned, "Stay here. I'll go talk to her."
He hurried to Karishma's room and found her deep in thought.
"Maasi," Shaurya called softly, "Are you upset with Palki?"
Karishma looked at him with a sigh, "We get upset with our loved ones sometimes. Did she tell you?"
"She mentioned it. But why are you upset? Please tell me."
Karishma hesitated but eventually confessed, "I always imagined Kriti would be the daughter-in-law of this house. It's hard for me to accept that you married Palki instead."
Shaurya nodded, "I understand. Everyone had expectations, but I'm married to Palki now. She's my wife, Maasi. She cares about everyone, and when she found out you were upset, it made her sad. I hate seeing her like that."
Karishma was silent, observing the love and concern in Shaurya's voice.
"You've never cared for anyone like this before, Shaurya," Karishma remarked, her tone softening. "I think you're in love with her."
Shaurya paused, the realization hitting him. Could it be true? Was he in love with Palki?
Back in their room, Palki paced nervously. She worried that Karishma might get more upset after Shaurya talked to her. "I wish Raajveer was home. At least he could handle this," she muttered to herself, unsure of what to do.
Meanwhile, outside the house, Anika stood at the auto stand, frustrated that no auto was stopping. Just then, Raajveer pulled up in his car.
"Anika!" Raajveer called out, smiling at her.
Anika smiled back, "I've been waiting for an auto forever."
"Try the auto stand," Raajveer suggested with a mischievous grin. "Or wear a chunari, maybe then one will stop."
Anika rolled her eyes, "Very funny."
Raajveer opened the car door, pretending to let her in, but just as she was about to sit, he drove forward a little, teasing her.
"Raajveer!" she exclaimed, annoyed but laughing.
Suddenly, a police constable approached, thinking Raajveer was teasing Anika. "What's going on here?" the constable demanded.
Anika, playing along, said, "I don't know him! He's been teasing me!"
Raajveer quickly thought on his feet, "Sir, she's just angry because I was talking to another girl. We're boyfriend and girlfriend, just having a small fight."
The constable gave them both a stern look but eventually believed their story and left. Raajveer laughed, "You really don't know how to back me up, do you?"
Anika giggled, "Well, you deserved it!"
Raajveer drove her home, both of them laughing about the incident.
Back in Karishma's room, Shaurya looked at her and said, "I behave differently because I care for Palki. Nobody can stop me from taking care of her, and everyone in this house cares for her too."
Just then, Palki was coming downstairs. Shaurya continued, "I've never cared for anyone like I care for her. I can't stand to see her sad."
Karishma smiled and said, "I can't see you sad either. For your sake, I'll forgive Palki."
"I knew you would! You're the best," Shaurya replied, pulling her into a warm hug. "I love you."
"I know, I love you too," Karishma said with a smile.
As they turned, they saw Palki standing there. Karishma looked at her and said, "I'm forgiving you, Palki. I was upset since the necklace incident."
With that, she left the room.
Shaurya turned to Palki and said, "Don't be sad or worried." He walked away, leaving Palki deep in thought. If I'm so special to him, does he really love me?
Shaurya also pondered, Has she become special to me? He smiled to himself as he left. Palki smiled back, feeling happy and hopeful.
Back at the house, Shaurya returned to the dining room where the family had gathered for dinner. Mukesh informed Shaurya that Palki had cooked the meal herself, and she seemed much happier now.
As Palki served food to everyone, Preeta stopped her. "Shaurya doesn't eat brinjal, you know."
"Who even eats brinjal?" Shaurya chimed in.
Karan and Kavya both raised their hands, "We do!"
Palki smiled and served them, grateful for their appreciation. Karan complimented her cooking, asking her to bring more dishes.
Then, Palki brought out the laddoos. Karan and Kavya were delighted, asking for more.
"Even I want to try them," Shaurya said, reaching for one.
But Palki stopped him, "Wait! You told me you avoid gluten and lactose."
Shaurya smirked, "I'm not allergic anymore. I can eat them now."
He took a bite, and his eyes lit up. "This is really good."
Kavya laughed, "Say it with your heart, Shaurya! I've never tasted anything like this before."
Karan nodded, "It's true. I think there's a secret ingredient."
Shaurya looked at Palki, realizing that the love and care she put into everything she did made it all the more special.
As the family shared a warm and happy meal, Shaurya couldn't help but think about how Palki had become such an important part of his life. He smiled to himself, feeling that maybe, just maybe, he had fallen in love with her.
Palki, watching him from across the table, smiled softly, thinking to herself, Thank you, Bau ji. Your prayers have brought me this happiness.
And in that moment, as they shared their meal with their family, both Palki and Shaurya felt something deeper than they had ever expected. Love was blossoming, even if they weren't ready to admit it yet .
