Shaurya and Palki were finishing up dinner when Shaurya looked at Palki with a serious expression.

Shaurya: "Palki, make sure you're ready early tomorrow morning. We have to go to the temple "

Palki nodded, trying to hide her excitement about the outing.

Palki: "I'll be ready, Shaurya."

Shaurya was downstairs, waiting for Palki. Preeta was giving him last-minute instructions, unaware of the tension between him and Palki.

Preeta: "Shaurya, remember to take care of Palki. She’s your wife now, and it’s important you both show unity, especially in front of others."

Shaurya nodded, though his mind was elsewhere. Just then, Palki came down the stairs, dressed beautifully in a traditional outfit. The morning light illuminated her, and Shaurya found himself mesmerized by her appearance.Preeta noticed his reaction and couldn't help but tease him.

Preeta: "Shaurya, close your mouth before a fly decides to take a tour inside."

Shaurya snapped out of his trance, clearing his throat awkwardly.

Shaurya: "Uh, right. Let’s get going."

On the way to the temple, Palki was filled with excitement, her eyes sparkling as she looked out the window. Shaurya stole a few glances at her, feeling a strange mix of emotions. When they arrived at the temple, Palki’s eyes lit up at the sight of the stairs leading up to it.

Palki: "Look at those stairs! This is going to be an adventure!"

Shaurya, not sharing her enthusiasm, started walking ahead without waiting for her.Palki hurried after him, struggling to keep up due to her shorter height and slower pace.

Palki: "Shaurya, wait! I can’t walk as fast as you."

Shaurya stopped reluctantly, turning back with mild impatience.

Shaurya: "Honestly, Palki. You really can’t walk properly, can you? Always so slow."

Palki frowned but kept her spirits high, determined to enjoy the day despite his taunts.

Palki: "I’m doing my best, Shaurya."

They continued climbing, but the heat and exertion soon took their toll on Palki. After some time, she stumbled, her foot catching on a step.

Palki: "Ouch!"

Shaurya, a few steps ahead, turned around at the sound of her voice. Seeing her struggling, he couldn’t help but taunt her again.

Shaurya: "You really can’t walk properly, shorty."

Before Palki could respond, she felt dizzy, the sun’s rays beating down on her relentlessly. She was about to fall when Shaurya looked back again and saw her swaying.

Instinctively, he rushed to her, grabbing her hand and pulling her towards him. Palki collided with his chest, her head spinning.

Shaurya: "Palki!"

Palki tried to steady herself, but her legs gave out. Shaurya picked her up in his arms, cradling her protectively.

Palki: "Put me down, Shaurya."

Shaurya: "I didn’t pick you up just to put you down. Hold on."

He continued to carry her up the stairs, his grip firm and reassuring. Palki felt a mix of embarrassment and gratitude, clinging to him as they climbed.

Shaurya: "You really need to eat your food properly, Palki. This wouldn’t happen if you took better care of yourself."

Palki wanted to retort but couldn’t find the energy. She just nodded weakly, her head resting against his chest.

They finally reached the top, and Shaurya gently set Palki down. She steadied herself, taking deep breaths as she regained her strength

.Palki: "Thank you, Shaurya. I’m okay now."

Shaurya: "Good. Let’s go inside and finish the rituals."

They performed the rituals together, offering prayers and lighting candles. Despite the underlying tension, there were moments of unexpected tenderness, like when Shaurya handed Palki a candle, their fingers brushing briefly.

As they made their way back down the stairs, Shaurya kept a close eye on Palki. She was still weak, and he didn’t want her to fall again.

Shaurya: "Hold my hand, Palki. I don’t want you to stumble."

Palki looked at him in surprise but didn’t argue. She took his hand, feeling a sense of safety despite his usual harsh demeanor.

Palki: "Thank you, Shaurya."Shaurya’s grip was firm, almost possessive, as they descended the 3,000 stairs. He didn’t let go until they were safely back at the bottom, surprising both of them with his protectiveness.

Back at home, Preeta was resting on the couch when they entered. She looked up and smiled at them, sensing a shift in their relationship.

Preeta: "You both seem closer today. I’m glad."

Shaurya and Palki exchanged a glance, their expressions reflecting a mix of confusion and something deeper.

Shaurya: "We had a good day, Maa."

Preeta nodded, satisfied.Preeta: "I can see that. Keep taking care of each other."

As the evening wore on, Shaurya found himself thinking about the day’s events. Pretending to care for Palki for Preeta’s sake was becoming more complicated, especially when moments like these felt so real. Palki, too, couldn’t deny the warmth she felt from Shaurya’s unexpected protectiveness.

As they prepared for bed, Shaurya couldn't help but think about the day's events. He glanced at Palki, who was brushing her hair by the mirror.

Shaurya: "You know, Palki, you should really consider eating more. It’s not good for you to get so weak."

Palki turned to face him, a playful glint in her eyes.

Palki: "Well, maybe if someone didn’t stress me out all the time, I wouldn’t lose my appetite."

Shaurya raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on his lips.

Shaurya: "Oh, so it’s my fault now?"

Palki walked over to him, crossing her arms.

Palki: "Yes, it is. You should be nicer to your wife."

Shaurya chuckled, shaking his head.

Shaurya: "You’re a handful, you know that?"

Palki smiled, feeling a strange warmth at their banter.

Palki: "And yet, you managed to carry me up 3,000 stairs. Impressive, Mr. Luthra."

Shaurya rolled his eyes but couldn't suppress his smile.

Shaurya: "Well, I had to make sure you didn’t hurt yourself. Can’t have my wife stumbling all over the place."

Palki’s smile widened, feeling a small flutter in her chest at his words.

Palki: "Thank you, Shaurya. For everything."

Shaurya’s expression softened, and for a moment, the tension between them seemed to fade away.

Shaurya: "You’re welcome, Palki. Goodnight."

Palki: "Goodnight, Shaurya."

As they turned off the lights and settled into bed, both of them couldn’t help but think about the subtle shifts in their relationship. The day had been filled with unexpected moments of care and tenderness, leaving them both wondering what the future held for their fragile, evolving bond.
