Hiding The Darkness

Chapter 7

Lia entered the boarding house, she needed to have a chat with her twin. She trusted Klaus to keep his word, for some odd reason. Now, she needed to prepare her plan and make sure she had everything in place. She was surprised to see Elijah in the house as well. 

"Lia" Jenna rushed over and hugged her. Stefan didn't move, he only watched her cautiously. 

Pulling out of Jenna's hug, Lia looked to Elena, "We need to talk, alone." Stefan and Damon tried to object but she ignored them. When her sister finally nodded, they walked into a room away from everyone's hearing. Jenna looked between the two, curiously.

"What's this about Lia? Stefan said you were a witch." Elena started.

Lia shook her head, "Not a witch, something much worse. I have made sure Klaus won't go after Jenna or Jeremy but I know what he has planned for you. I want you to go along, I can make sure you come back, I promise it."

"People can't come back from the dead Lia, what are you talking about?" Elena sighed.

Lia glared, "I've already done it, after Damon ripped out Mason's heart, I brought him back."

Elena paled and Jenna gasped, "Why did Damon kill him?"

"Because Damon's a dick." Lia replied, looking back to Elena, she said, "I'll need your hair. Once Klaus is done, I'll need your body and I'll do my thing, you'll wake up human when it's all done."

"What about the elixir Elijah has?" Her sister asked.

Shrugging, Lia said, "Take it, if it doesn't work, I'll make sure you wake up."

Seeing Jenna nod, Elena agreed. "Okay, take my hair, hopefully this works."

"This will work." Jenna pulled them both into a hug, "I won't take another option."

Walking back downstairs, Elena noticed Damon not there so she went off to find him. They were chatting with Elijah when they hear yelling. Everyone ran upstairs to find Elena with blood on her mouth and the brothers fighting.

Jenna and Lia rush to her, finding out what Damon had done. Elena asked tearfully, "Will your way still work? I don't want to be a vampire."

Lia nodded, "You'll be human. I promise."

Damon fled after the whole incident and Ric went to find him, hopefully stopping him from doing anything stupid, again. Stefan and Elena went off for a while too. Elijah had left, telling him they would meet up later, leaving Jenna and Lia alone.

"Lia, why did you keep it all a secret?" Jenna asked.

"How exactly does one tell their vampire hating family, that you're something much worse? I could bring back the dead but couldn't save my own parents with it. There are days I regret going to New York, because if I had been home, maybe I could have brought them back before anyone found out they were dead." Lia wiped her eyes, "If I lose my family, I'll lose the fragile hold I have on the darkness. I came home because I couldn't afford to lose anyone else."

Jenna hugged her, "You won't lose us. Elena will wake up when you're finished, and all will be well."

They heard Stefan's car pull up and Lia went to the door. Opening it she stepped out as soon as her twin got out of the car. Lia had walked towards her when a voice made her freeze.

"You got me all nervous, I thought maybe you'd done something stupid."

Lia turned to the voice and paled, "Nik?"

Blue eyes turned to her, he hadn't realized she had been standing there.

"Klaus" she whispered and watched his face close off, going colder than she had ever seen. Pulling herself together, she walked over to her sister and pulled her from Stefan, "Remember."
