Lia hoped she prepared Rebekah enough to start school, she was sad her friend was going, but knew she wanted the experience of high school. Now, Lia was going to catch up with Katherine and Mason. Speaking of Mason, he had told her the Salvatores were up to something sketchy. She really hoped they wouldn't cause problems but knew they would. Lia had been texting with Nik and couldn't wait for him to get back. He was finishing up with his last pack and then coming back.
Right now, Lia was sitting on the front porch, waiting for Kat to pick her up. She had missed the other girl and hoped she could talk Nik into letting his grudge against Katherine go. Lia didn't want to see her run again.
A hot rod red convertible pulled up in front of the house with a smiling Katherine driving. Lia smiled and rushed out to get in, she was pulled into a hug once she did.
"Missed you Lia," Katherine smiled, "Mason's not the best company anymore."
Lia laughed, "You're just mad he's not under your spell anymore." She laughed harder at Katherine's glare. Calming, she asked, "So, what's the plan for today?"
As Katherine pulled the car onto the street, she shrugged, "Don't know, just glad to have you back."
"You're such a big softy." Lia smiled, so did the vampire.

They had spent some time shopping when Mason called and asked them to meet. They pulled up to the outskirts of the Lockwood property. Lia looked around confused, "Why would he want to meet out here?" She asked.
Katherine shook her head, "No idea."
"I wanted to meet out here because I found something you need to see," Mason said, appearing next to the car, "Come on." He led the two into the cave system below. "I had read about these years ago, but just remembered and thought to check it out."
Lia shuddered at the feeling she got, it felt like the clearing she used to go to. Mason led her to a cave off the main tunnel when they noticed Katherine couldn't follow.
"What's going on?" Katherine asked.
Mason shrugged, "No clue, must have to do with what I found. We can take pictures to show you, but Lia needs to see this." He pulled Lia further in, to what he found. "I'm going to guess that's Viking script."
Lia nodded and stepped forward to look it all over. There were names and what looked like a story being told. She needed to ask Rebekah and Nik about these pictures. If anyone would know, it would be them.
Mason pointed to one drawing, "What do you think that means?"
Looking it over, she paled, "I think the White Oak left something behind. No one can know about this."
"So, my question is, where did that tree go?" Mason asked, "Someone had to have cut it down since then."
"No clue, but I doubt the Salvatores will let me look through the logging records to find out where it went." She sighed. Making sure she had it all photographed, she walked towards Katherine. "I know you two don't like each other but can you be pleasant enough for us to figure this out? I don't want to chance losing any of you."
Katherine nodded, "If you can get Klaus to promise not to kill me, I will help. I like living."
Lia smiled, "Great, now, let's go. We need to find a tree."
