Lia awoke, realizing she was in another car. She really needed to stop waking up like this, it was getting ridiculous. Looking around, she noticed Stefan in the front, then she noticed who else was in the car. Sitting up, she asked quietly, "Where am I?"
Stefan remained quiet but glared in Niks direction.
"I wanted to speak with you, so you're currently on the road with us." Nik replied cautiously.
Gaping, she asked, "You kidnapped me?"
"No, I brought you along to talk, you're free to leave after we do so."
"Who says I want to speak with you? You lied to me!" She growled.
Nik pulled the car over and jumped out, opening the back door and motioning her to get out. She glared but did when he walked away from the car. She followed behind after she found her shoes.
"I never lied to you. I had thought you were the doppelganger at first, but when I realized you weren't, I still wanted to know you!" He started.
"You knew I looked like Katherine's sister, so I'm sure you figured out my sister was the doppelganger." She whispered, trying to hide her hurt.
"I thought you were intriguing that first night we met. You were the first person, human, I had ever encountered that wasn't afraid of me or what I could do." Nik said, "I didn't even realize you were the doppelgangers sister until that day in the kitchen."
"Why didn't you tell me then? Were you just hoping that I wouldn't figure out who you were? Why did you bring me?" She asked after she watched him speak, she could tell he wasn't lying but she still wasn't sure how to take any of this.
"When I saw your face, when you realized it was me, I couldn't have you thinking I used you to get the doppelganger. Lia, I honestly don't know why I didn't tell you, maybe I was hoping you wouldn't find out, as selfish as that is." He sighed, "I didn't want you to hate me."
Lia looked into his eyes, "You don't care if people hate you, Nik, why would you care if I did?"
He shook his head and laughed humorlessly, "That's the thing Lia, I don't know! Since I met you, something's been different."
"Oh," She whispered, "Can I at least call Jenna, to let her know I'm okay?"
Nik nods, "Of course, Lia. Your phone is in the car, and you can leave whenever you want. I just wanted to be able to talk with you." He walked her back to the car, grabbing her phone and handing it to her.
"Thank you," She looked from her phone to him, "What should I call you? Nik or Klaus?"
"Nik," he smiled and got into the car, leaving her to make her call.
She waited while the phone rang, "Lia, oh thank god. Where are you, are you okay?"
When her aunt finally stopped, Lia replied, "Jenna, breathe, I'm fine."
"How can you be fine, you were kidnapped!" Jenna yelled.
Sighing, Lia tried to calm her but knew she failed. "He said I could come home whenever."
"Well, Katherine will bring you back."
"Jenna, I think I'm going to stay for a bit. I know he's Klaus to everyone else, but he's still Nik to me. I want to see what he can tell me, maybe get an actual explanation." She murmured the last part.
"I don't like it, but fine. Just make sure you call me and keep me in the loop, please Lia." Jenna asked.
"I will. Love you Jenna, tell Jeremy too." Lia replied.
