Hiding The Darkness

Chapter 17

Rebekah knew her family would be upset but she wanted him to have the chance to say goodbye. Nik had just arrived back with Lia, so she knew his time was running out. When a knock sounded, she rushed to answer it.

"They don't know I called you but they'll understand why I did it." She told him.

Damon nodded, "I told him Elena would end up getting him killed. Stefan wouldn't listen and could only say I was jealous." He shook his head, he hated that his brother was going to die, but he had tried to warn him. "Shall we shock your family?" He smirked.

Rebekah gave him a small smile, "Let's do this."

When they entered the living room, everyone froze and stared. Rebekah could see Lia and Katherine trying to hold Nik and Elijah in place while Sage had hold of Finn. Unfortunately, no one had hold of Kol. 

"What is he doing here? We're not letting Stefan go. Not after he tried to kill Lia!" Kol growled.

Damon held his hands up, "I tried to warn him, told him they would lose. I just wanted to tell him goodbye, please."

Lia gave him a small smile, "We can do that. You did try to warn us."

Elijah, the voice of reason, took Damon down to say his goodbyes. He stayed outside while they spoke, giving them privacy.

"What have you done brother? I warned you, now look at you!" Damon motioned to the chains.

Stefan glared, "If you hadn't run, we could have killed her and ended the Mikaelsons!"

"Elena's got your mind so twisted! If they die, we die. Hell, you already got Lia killed once, why couldn't you just leave it?"

Everyone tried not to listen to the brothers. Lia looked to Katherine and nodded, both moved to stand with Rebekah. "So, what's going on with you and Damon?" Lia smiled at her friend.

"It's a surprising friendship." Katherine added.

Rebekah glared, "You two are awful friends." They laughed at her. "What's going on with you and Elijah? I thought I heard something the other night." She looked to Katherine with a smirk.

Lia looked to Katherine with wide eyes, "Did he finally pull his head out of his ass?" That made the others in the room laugh.

Sage moved to join them, getting the details of the new relationships. They found out Rebekah and Damon had been talking for a while, he was the mystery man. Elijah and Katherine were still new, but it was hopeful.

Esther watched her children and their significant others, she was glad to see them happy. She had been so worried when they all ran out to help Lia. She wondered if they could live in peace now. 

When Damon and Elijah returned, they noticed the blood on the younger vampire's lip. Rebekah walked over, "What happened?'

"Just having a word with Damon, since he seems to fancy you." Elijah replied.

"Elijah! I didn't hit Katherine!" Rebekah growled.

"No, your family just chased me for 500 years." Katherine deadpanned.

Nik, Lia, Kol, Elijah, Finn, and Sage were standing before their prisoners. Katherine and Rebekah didn't care to be here for this and took Esther out of the house. Bonnie, her mom, and the witch who killed Lia, were all chained next to Stefan. Two were glaring, one was crying and one resigned to their fate.

"Who do we start with?" Kol asked, baseball bat in hand, "I want to break some bones."

"I think Lia and Sage should deal with the women. After all, ladies first." Nik smirked.
