As King and Oreo settled into their usual routine, a new face entered the scene—a girl whose presence felt magnetic and alluring in its own way. Her name was **Aneira Lovejoy**.
Oreo noticed her first during lunch, where she stood out effortlessly. Her **caramel skin**, marked with beautiful patches of **vitiligo**, contrasted with her earth-toned clothes, giving her an aura of quiet confidence. Her **deep brown eyes** seemed to pull you in, as if her thoughts were just as colorful as her personality.
King glanced in her direction and leaned over to Oreo, "You see her? She's got a vibe."
"Yeah, definitely. Kind of hard to miss her." Oreo studied the girl for a second longer, taking in her **brunette curls** and the way she moved with grace and purpose. "Who is she?"
"No idea," King responded. "But I've seen her in the halls a couple times. People say she's into gardening and plays the violin."
Oreo raised an eyebrow. "Gardening? In high school? Who even has the patience for that?"
"I guess she does," King shrugged. "Also heard she's got asthma, though, so that might explain the calm vibe. She probably doesn't need any more stress."
As the two sat down with their food, Aneira walked past them, carrying a tray of salad and some fruit. She didn't pay them much attention at first, but as she sat down at a nearby table, she gave them both a subtle nod of acknowledgment.
"Did she just... acknowledge us?" Oreo whispered, a bit amused.
King chuckled. "I think we've been Lovejoy'd."
Oreo rolled her eyes. "That's the lamest thing you've ever said, and that includes your snack jokes."
They continued their lunch, but they both noticed how Aneira seemed to be drawing quiet attention from others. Her calm and earthy demeanor seemed to stand in stark contrast to the chaos of high school life. It wasn't long before her table was joined by another person, her younger brother, **Key'Oir**. He shared the same caramel skin tone, but his energy was wilder, more erratic.
Later in the day, during psychology class, the teacher introduced a class-wide game meant to test their knowledge and understanding of human behavior. It was always a competitive environment in there, especially with students like King and Oreo constantly topping the ranks. But Aneira seemed different.
As the game went on, King and Oreo worked as a team, crushing through each question, sharing inside jokes as they aced round after round. Towards the end, the results were announced.
"And the winners are... King and Oreo!" the teacher declared. The class clapped, with some playful groans from their classmates. "Second place goes to Livy and Jonah. Oh wait—never mind, they were caught cheating."
The room burst into laughter as Livy and Jonah awkwardly tried to save face. King and Oreo exchanged a victorious fist bump, feeling on top of the world.
Meanwhile, Aneira watched quietly from the back of the room, a faint smile tugging at her lips. She wasn't as concerned with the game. She had her own thoughts.
As class ended, Aneira approached them for the first time.
"You two really know your stuff," she said, her voice warm but low-key.
Oreo blinked, caught off guard. "Uh, thanks. You're Aneira, right?"
"That's me," she replied, adjusting her bag's strap. "You guys seem cool. Maybe we'll end up working on something together. I like your vibe."
King nodded. "Yeah, same here. Nice meeting you, Aneira."
As she walked off, Oreo leaned in towards King. "She seems interesting. Different."
