Yulia's POV

Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit.

Why did everything always have to happen to me? Was I seriously that cursed? First, Elijah comes back into my life, then as soon as we're leaving, I come across my father who wanted me back probably for that rich guy to marry me and then Liam comes back with his men to retrieve me as if he stood a chance. Now my dad was dead as well as a bunch of other innocent men who probably had no idea that they were losing their lives for a patheticly, ridiculous excuse. I couldn't take it anymore. It was too much, people being slaughtered and fighting over nothing. It was just stupid.

And right now we were driving away from the chaos and apparently being chased by a mystery figure who was driving like a complete maniac, driving through the trees that parted the roads, all wheels off the ground. Gazing out the window, the car came flying through the sky, it was literally a scene straight from a movie, levitating as time froze and we all stared in shock and wonder. The car came crashing down and stopped right in front of the car we were in. Thankfully, Omar had the brain to brake before we actually got into a car crash with the other vehicle. My hands were pressed against the window and I watched with so much interest as the car's tyres screeched to a halt. All was silent and still. No one moved an inch or dared to breath, it was a game for survival.

After what felt like hours, Elijah opened the door and left the car then made his way towards the other vehicle. As he inched closer to it, the door opened and someone stepped out. The only thing I could see was the leather boot with a fire symbol and eagle branded at the end of the shoe. I knew exactly who it belonged to.

As soon as I looked up, I saw him. The guy I had slight feelings for, the one who was also competing for me. The one who sacrificed his own men just for me even when I told him not to. I couldn't help the anger that boiled within me at the sight of him.

Liam's back. This is not going to end well.
Seeing that Omar left the car, following behind Elijah while Sam and Red emerged from the car in front of us, standing behind Liam, I decided to also leave the car and follow behind.
The moment I left the protection of the car, all eyes drifted to me, the centre of attention. They all eyed each other suspiciously and stood face to face so I decided to stand a little distance away in case I had to make a quick getaway though I knew it'd be futile, getting away on foot whilst they had cars.

"Why are you here? I thought I told you that she's mine only." Elijah's booming voice echoed all around us, vibrating in my ears and making me wince. He towered over every one of us, making us look like nothing other than dwarfs. "I don't give a fuck about what you said. She's not your property, she's a human. And I think she's old enough to watch herself, she doesn't need a babysitter." He growled back at Elijah, not caring about the intensity of the moment and how it could lead to his own inevitable death as he took a menacing step forward. They both stood face to face, glaring at each other in silence. Seeing that Elijah's expression had changed, I held my breath, expecting the worst to happen.

Instead of bursting out of anger as I had thought, a sly grin slowly crept upon his face, darkening his features as he looked down at the shorter gang leader, who stood his ground. "Fine. I'll make a deal, one-on-one. No one can interfere, first one who doesn't get up loses. Only between us two. If I win, I take her with me and you leave us alone, you win... then you can take her. Deal?" He waited for Liam's response, his hand held out to shake on terms and follow the rules, his eyebrows furrowed together with the rest of his face set in a smug expression. He waited for a while, all of us staring at the two opponents who stood in the middle, the air surrounding them filled with tension and a hint of anticipation. After a while, he slowly nodded and shook Elijah's hand.

"Deal."

"Then let's begin."

Once he finished that sentence, everyone began to move around, standing side by side and a small distance away from the two.
