"What did you do to them?" Demanding an answer, I take a step towards him. Even though my memories are burning right now, I need to know if he came across the others. He looks like a creature, inhumane and wild. He snarls and spits at me.
"Your stupid friends? They weren't even there. I guess you told them to run?" His eyes bulge out of their sockets and I frown. I know I need to mask my anger but it's too difficult.
"So, your little pet, Diego, he's dead." I'm deliberately making it worse and it's working. The tears fall out of his eyes rapidly, his eyes look sore and as if they're going to fall out at any moment and he growls, a small, low sound that encourages me to go ahead with my newfound purpose. The fact that my only memories are now gone spurs my anger and sparks the eagerness to destroy him. He suddenly lifts his gun and aims it at my head but at the same time my own guns comes out and I aim it at his abdomen. He's just as stuck as I am. We both stand there for a what seems like eternity before he speaks. "I'm gonna spare you only because you owe me, you're gonna take your father's place in owing his debt since he's gone now." I have no idea what he's talking about and what he says next confuses me even more.
"You do not deserve to inherit such a title and therefore there shall be no wedding."Hearing such nonsense makes me angry and a click sounds from my gun. I glare at him before spitting the words with poison and hatred. "Why the hell would I wanna get married? What makes you think that? Your ego too big for your head, megamind?"
"No. The papers have already been signed. You're legally now mine." His lips form a wicked grin as he takes a step forward. Raising my brows, I wave my own gun, reminding him of the chances of him having a bullet in between his eyes. The only reason I haven't killed him is because he has the answers I'm looking for, I can find them if I try hard enough.
"You really are different."
"And you're not. You're the same as every other man on this earth, all chase women for their bodies to throw them away once you're done with them." Those very words make him laugh and what he blurts out makes me feel disgusted and realise the extent he's willing to go to just to get me."What else can women do? They're only to be used for us men, we look after them and in return they let us use them. You women are nothing without us men, you're useless and have no purpose. That's why all you ever do is have kids and be emotional for no reason. You're all dramatic and pathetic." He cackles a nasty, croaky sound while his head falls back. He really is mad. He looks back at me and shoots which makes me instinctively flinch and of course, he laughs again.
"See what I mean? Scared for nothing losers you women are." From the corner of my eyes, further into the distance, the sight of the shaking bushes alarms me, setting my heart to a frantic pace but I don't give anything away.
The moving bushes scare me, reminding me that we're not alone and there are possibly wild animals out here, living and hunting for prey. Gulping the fear back down, I look back at him and shoot.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
I hadn't realised I shot more than once but when I pause my attack on him, the scream of a gun continues and I quickly drop to the ground, seeking protection from the snow beneath me. Glancing up, I see figures emerging and thankfully I recognise one of the faces; it's Serena. She would never cover up her face even if it's cold, if it's ugly she'll do anything except wear it and it wouldn't even be the last thing she does. Ever.
Someone comes running to me and lifts me to my feet; it's Sam. He looks worried, a bit too worried. He puts his hands on my shoulders as he briefly inspects me before asking quickly."Are you okay? He didn't hurt you, did he?" Once I shake my head, he breathes a sigh of relief before dragging me to the others. Pedro is on the ground covering his head as he's buried deep into the snow and we make a run for it, going behind the close up bushes and making our way to the jeep that's parked nearby. Sam keeps his hold on my hand tight, refusing to let me go as I gently attempt to pull back. He pulls at the door wildly and throws me in before jumping behind and slamming the door shut. The others get in within seconds and without realising it, we're already off, driving through the snow.
