MIKEY
A FEW HOURS earlier.
"Hey, Mikey!"
I had just come back home from dropping Y/N off at her school when my sister, Emma, suddenly emerged in the hallway with a grumpy look and her arms folded. Despite my attempts to ignore her, she constantly blocked my path and wouldn't allow me to pass. "What is it, Emma?" I asked her impatiently.
"C'mere." Emma grabbed my arm and dragged me toward her bedroom. She shut the door and then pushed me into a chair before she stood in front of me. With probing eyes, she demanded, "Tell me, honestly, Mikey. Did something happen between you and Y/N?"
I was quick to comprehend her question and momentarily held my tongue. My brow wrinkled in feigned confusion as I pretended to act innocent. "What are you talking about, Emma?" I deadpanned.
Emma let out an incredulous scoff. "Stop acting like you don't know! If you two wanted to do something, you should do it more discreetly!" she berated in frustration. "You should also learn how to lock the damn door!"
I scratched the back of my neck, feeling a bit embarrassed. "Oh, did I forget to lock it?"
She smacked my head. "It's not funny, Mikey! Be serious! What if Grandpa sees you?"
I winced in pain and rubbed my head. "He won't. We'll be careful next time."
"Geez, I can't believe you! Just don't let Grandpa catch you two in the act. He might have a heart attack."
So, she did spy on us making out last night. If Y/N learned about this, she'd definitely flip. "Relax, Emma. Y/N and I were just kissing. We did not do anything further than that. Everything's under control," I reassured her, not letting her know the full extent of what actually happened between me and Y/N over the past week. The two of us only did it once and we both made sure to keep quiet about it.
Emma was eyeing at me skeptically. "You better not lie to me, Mikey."
I raised my hands at her in surrender to show her that I was being honest. "I swear, Emma. I'm telling the truth."
She seemed to remain doubtful of my reasoning, yet she chose not to push the matter further. My sister just threw me a disapproving look. "Hmph! You better be!"
I knew Emma meant well and I appreciated her concern, but we were doing fine on our own. "Man, you're being too nosy, Emma. Y/N and I know exactly what we are doing." I stood up and walked past her. Reaching the doorknob, I playfully waved my hand at her and snickered, "You should be more concerned about telling Ken-chin how much you like him instead of meddling with our affairs."
