[Narrator POV]
"Fucking hell, did it finally settle?" muttered lily to herself, having just witnessed the aftermath of the battle she didn't know about
She was shaking just like any other person in the vicinity, for the people in the area where she was were almost caught within the blast but thankfully also protected by the magical enchantments that reinforced the buildings
But of course they didn't know about any of this
Although the immediate shockwave had long gone past them, it was still travelling through the atmosphere, not caring for any cities, forests or creatures it disturbs be they birds or land animals
"More importantly...how the hell is everything still standing? That explosion should've definitely levelled the area i'm in..." she said with a beat of sweat dripping down her forehead as she slowly stopped shaking
A while passed, and nothing seemed to happen
"Ok...seems like everything has calmed down finally" Lily breathed a heavy sigh of relief now that she didn't have to worry about fucking nuclear level explosions sending her to hell too early!
KNOCK KNOCk KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
She froze, she recognized that knocking pattern in an instant. How could she not? She sprinted to the door immediately and opened it in a hurry despite the situation that just happened
She was met with 2 boys standing in front of her door, a boy with heterochromia and vibrant blue and purple eyes, his hair being black at the roots and fading into white starting from the middle. He had grown taller since she last saw him, standing at roughly 6'1 ft. the top of his monochrome hair didn't even reach his neck
It didn't take long to recognize him, and his partner took even less
A brunette boy that was slightly taller than his partner, the difference was so negligible that it seemed like his friend could outgrow him any second. His hair was noticeably longer then said friend as it was long enough to be tied in a short ponytail that looked like it could come undone at a moments notice and it was complemented by more less vibrant green eyes that reminded her of moss and leaves
Before she could get a word out, the brunette boy crouched down a bit and gave her a hug
"It's been a while, but we're back now. Cmon, i know we have a lot of catching up to do" he said softly
His friend then spoke up
"The Fool has returned" He said with a smirk
She stood there, a bit speechless before a small smile crept up her face as she sighed and finally spoke up
"I assume you didn't mention anything because you didn't want to ruin the surprise? That or this fool thought it would be funny to show up announced"
"Both" answered the brunette boy simply
"We are not the same, i always do shit unannounced" said his partner (in crime)
"Now how about we go sit down somewhere because i'm not gonna be standing for hours while we catch up" She said as she went towards the couch
Lily was about to sit on an armchair before the brunette boy gently grabbed her hand and stopped her
"Hold on, I'm gonna sit there. The host deserves to sit on their own couch" he said as he let go of her hand
"No it's fine Gin, it's soft too so there's no problem"
"I think you mean 'i wanna sit there to look like a cool boss interrogating her 2 goons after a while'. You're not slick Lily" Gin said with a slightly condescending tone
