A battered and bloody All Might stood standing victorious, having just defeated the man known as All For One. The incredible hero then raised his left arm, pointing towards an unforeseen future. "Now, it's your turn." All Might said, exhausted.
The sudden appearance of a computer mouse icon revealed that this iconic scene was being played by someone. The very man responsible sat beside the computer monitor, looking serious, as he paused the video of All Might. "Quite a statement. But what do you suppose he meant by it?" a man asked. His name was Taneo Tokuda, a freelance journalist.
"I figured it was a warning. You know, to the other villains. 'I got your boss, now I'm after you.' That kind of thing." a woman said. She sat at a nearby table, across from Tokuda.
"If that were the case, though, wouldn't he have said it differently? 'You bastards are next on my list.' Or something more along those lines." Tokuda reasoned.
"What are you suggesting, here?" the woman asked, curiously.
"Four months ago, All Might took a position as a teacher at UA High, knowing he was reaching the end of his time as a hero. Then he ends his last battle with the message, 'Now, it's your turn.'" Tokuda said.
"So, you think..." the woman began.
"That's right, Chief. He's been assessing the next generation of UA students, hoping he can find a successor among them. And, considering how he phrased his message, I believe he's already selected one." Tokuda explained. The woman now known revealed as his editor-in-chief let out a slight chuckle.
"Thats why you're here. You have an idea of who it might be." the Editor said.
"At first, I thought it was one of UA's Big Three. Third year, Mirio Togata. He pays regular visits to the agency run by Sir Nighteye, All Might's former sidekick." Tokuda began.
"You're right, maybe he's our guy." the Editor said, certain.
"However, it appears that All Might and Sir Nighteye have long since parted ways. They no longer seem to be in contact with one another." Tokuda countered.
"Could be misdirection." the Editor pointed out.
"Possibly. But I've actually been kicking around another theory. From what I hear, All Might's been spending an unusual amount of time with the students in Class 1A." Tokuda said.
"Interesting. You think that All Might's chosen one of them to be his successor?" the Editor asked.
"I believe that to be the case, yes. But those League of Villains attacks have UA pretty spooked. Security is considerably tighter. A freelance journalist like myself would have quite a difficult time gaining entrance to the campus." Tokuda said, fake pouting.
"Yeah, yeah, I get it. We'll get you access to the school. And in return..." the Editor began.
"In return, I'll provide your paper with an exclusive scoop. For a substantial fee, of course." Tokuda said, winking.
