Jungkook's heart pounded in his chest, but he stood his ground, his voice steady despite the storm brewing inside him. "If that's the price I have to pay to be with Jin, then so be it. I'll walk away from everything."
Jin's breath hitched beside him, overwhelmed by the intensity of the confrontation. He wanted to pull Jungkook back, but he could see the fierce determination in his eyes.
"Jungkook..." Mrs. Kim's voice trembled, but Jungkook didn't waver. His gaze remained locked on his father.
"I'm done being controlled by expectations. I won't let you or anyone else decide my life for me."
Mr. Kim stared at him in disbelief, his hands shaking with anger. "If you leave, Jungkook, don't expect to come back."
Jungkook didn't hesitate. "I won't need to." He turned to Jin, eyes softening for the first time, and whispered, "Let's go."
Without looking back, Jungkook led Jin out of the room, leaving behind a family in turmoil and a future filled with uncertainty. But for the first time, he felt free.
As Jungkook and Jin stepped out of the suffocating tension of the room, the hotel hallway felt like a release-a moment of clarity amidst the storm that had just unfolded. But the weight of what had just happened was still heavy on their shoulders. Jin's heart raced, and he felt a mix of emotions-fear, uncertainty, and something close to hope.
Jin pulled his hand away from Jungkook's, halting their steps. "Jungkook... what did you just do?"
Jungkook turned to face him, his face still tense from the confrontation with his father. "I did what I had to, Jin. I chose you. I'll always choose you."
Jin, still processing everything, shook his head, his voice trembling. "But your family, Jungkook... You just walked away from them. What if they never forgive you?"
Jungkook's jaw clenched, and a flicker of doubt passed through his eyes, but he quickly pushed it down. "I don't care," he said, though his voice was quieter now, like he was trying to convince himself as much as Jin. "They'll either understand, or they won't. But I'm not losing you again."
Jin looked at him, his eyes filled with a mix of sorrow and love. "This isn't just about us anymore, Jungkook. What about Jimin?" His voice cracked on the last word. He had so many questions, so many fears.
Jungkook reached out, cupping Jin's face gently, forcing him to meet his gaze. "I know this is complicated. I know I've hurt people, but I swear, I'll make it right. I'll talk to Jimin-I'll file for divorce tomorrow. I'll fix everything, but please... don't walk away from me."
Jin's heart broke at the vulnerability in Jungkook's eyes. He saw the sincerity, but he also knew the gravity of the situation. He couldn't just erase the pain, the mistakes, and the lives already affected.
"Jungkook..." Jin's voice was soft, almost a whisper. "What if it's not that simple? What if it's too late to fix everything?"
Jungkook's grip on him tightened. "It's never too late. Not for us."
Before Jin could respond, the elevator doors opened, and Jimin stepped out, his eyes bloodshot from crying. He froze when he saw them, the tension immediately thick in the air.
Jungkook stepped forward instinctively, his voice low but steady. "Jimin... we need to talk."
Jimin's gaze shifted between Jungkook and Jin, his face a mix of heartbreak and anger. "Talk?" he scoffed, bitterness lacing his voice. "What's left to say, Jungkook? You've made your choice, haven't you?"
Jungkook opened his mouth to speak, but Jimin cut him off. "You're going to leave me... for him?" His voice cracked, tears welling up again. "After everything? After all the years we've spent together?"
