At around 2 a.m., the three of them arrived at the Kim Mansion. As soon as they parked, Taehyung quickly got out of the car and headed straight to his room without a word. Meanwhile, Jungkook helped Jin carry his bag as they quietly entered the house, where everyone else was already asleep.
Jungkook called a maid over and asked her to take Jin's bag to Taehyung's room. She nodded and went ahead, carrying the bag. Jin's hands were trembling with nervousness, and he hesitated, unable to gather the courage to go into Taehyung's room.
Jungkook offered him a reassuring smile from a distance and said softly, "All the best... Jin..."
Jin managed a faint smile in response, then slowly walked to the door, taking a deep breath before knocking. There was no response. He knocked again, but still, no answer came.
Cautiously, Jin opened the door and found that Taehyung was in the dressing room. Jin quietly placed his shoes, handbag, jacket, and phone by the side of the bed before lying down on one side, trying to hold back his tears. Pulling the blanket over himself, he began wiping his tears with his sleeve, his chest tight with emotion as he cried softly.
A few minutes later, Taehyung emerged, freshly changed, and noticed Jin lying on the bed. He thought about sleeping in his office instead, but he was too exhausted from the drive to sleep on the office sofa. Deciding to share the bed, he lay down on the other side.
As he settled in, Taehyung turned his back to Jin, his mind troubled by everything that had happened earlier-the choices Jin had made and the unexpected turn of events. Lost in thought, he drifted off, both of them sleeping with their backs turned to each other.
The next morning, Jin woke up early. Seeing that Taehyung was still asleep, he quietly got ready, showered, and gathered his things before heading downstairs to the living room. There, he found Mrs. Kim and Mr. Kim already awake and waiting. They greeted him warmly, delighted to see him, and they spent some time chatting. Soon after, he accompanied Mrs. Kim to the Crown Hotel.
Meanwhile, Jungkook had errands to attend to, so he didn't go to the Crown Hotel that day. Taehyung, on the other hand, woke up a little later and, noticing that Jin was gone but his bag was still there, assumed he had left with Mrs. Kim.
Skipping breakfast, Taehyung headed straight to the Crown Hotel and went directly to his office. After finishing a series of meetings, he started feeling hungry, so he made his way to the private VIP lounge for lunch, where only a few select people were present.
After lunch, as Taehyung was heading back, a thought crossed his mind: Jin was probably still in the kitchen, working with that injured finger. Taehyung started to walk toward him, but then suddenly stopped, taking a deep breath.
"What am I doing?" he muttered to himself, shaking his head. "I can't go near him. After everything that happened, he shouldn't have chosen me... He should've chosen Jungkook."
He clenched his fists, frustration building in his chest. "You made a mistake, Jin. You really messed up."
Later that evening, Jin left work, deciding to walk to the bus stop. He was waiting for the bus when Taehyung's car suddenly sped past him, disappearing down the road. Jin watched the car zoom by, muttering to himself, "Wow, in a hurry, are we?"
Finally, the bus arrived, and Jin boarded, heading for the Kim's Mansion. When he got off at the housing colony's gate, he tried to hurry down the path-but in his rush, he twisted his ankle.
"Aaahhh... my foot!" he groaned, wincing in pain. Jin tried to put some weight on it, but the pain shot through him, forcing him to limp slowly forward.
