Chapter 14: Fighting People Am I Right? (Lillith and Willow)

"Halt."

Right, well I woke up last. Like usual too. I was tired, my back hurt from the fight. Wait... Did Patricia not- oh my God.

Okay, let's give a recap of the last day. We wake up, yada yada. After waking up we got some food then rode off. I was on Casper with Patricia, Willow and Mari were on the black horse and Salvito was on the black and white one.

We were riding for a while and these guards jumped out at us. There were five. We fought them and ran so we didn't get trapped or captured. We got closer to Skarika. Then we stopped.

That's where we are now.

We are just riding for now, it's not all that bad. We're gettin' closer to Skarika. Meaning we're going to be in for it when or if we run into more of those stupid Silvermanes. I was still leading Capser, behind the rest of the group. I felt Patricia leaning into me.

"What's up?" I asked her with the usual tone of 'god is she okay?' No, I'm not the nicest person you'll meet. I'll give you that for free. I love hurting my enemies, so. Just to let anyone know, I only have a very small amount of weak spots. Patricia might be one of those.

"Nothin'..." I could already tell she was lying to me. It was her tone, I wasn't usually good with this crap but... It's like when you have one really close friend and you can tell they aren't okay.

"Don't lie to me, What's up?" I said it again in the 'Don't give me bull' type of tone.

"Fine, I'm scared to do this crap! Okay? Is that a bad thing?" She snapped slightly, I heard it. So I stopped pressing.

"No, It's not." I mumbled before rolling my eyes and continuing to ride. We made it to the city. Finally.

"Halt." One Silvermane said, great.

"Who goes there?" The second said, we all glanced at each other.

"We're visiting some people." Willow explained as the guards thought it over.

"And if you're lying?" The first guard asked. God did I hate this guy.

"I'll pay you 15 gold on our way out, alright?" Willow got their agreement so we rode into town.

Skarika was a big kingdom, Willow got us to this small town within the kingdom. It was a nice area too. She checked her maps. They were in the bag she had. That's when a little orange tail poked out of the messenger bag.

"Whatcha got in the bag?" I asked her, wondering what the fluffy tail was.

"Fe-fe." She said back casually.

"It's her pet fox!" Salvito said back with a childish excitement.

That's when we stopped at a stable that had a weird marking near them. It was a really loopy 'A'. We all tied the horses to the spots. Then we walked up to this nice looking home. Willow knocked on the door.

I think it's time I hand this over to Willow.

So we got to the door. I knocked directly onto the mark of the Ace. I waited for someone to answer. I mean you could tell they were home the lanterns were on...

"Well hello?" I blinked up at the taller man who spoke. He had the same hair color as me...

"Oh- Hi! Uh, I'm Willow. This is Mari, Savie, Lillith and Patricia. Are you the leader of the Aces?" I asked him and explained to him.

"Yeah, I'm Samuel. Here, I'll be right back." And then he walked inside. It took a few minutes before he came out with two dirty blondes and a girl who had black hair with a carmel streak.

"Hey! I'm Luna!" The dirty blonde girl told us, she pushed the person who looked to be her brother forwards. "This is Max!!" He seemed really quiet.

"I'm Anastatsi..." The girl with black hair and the steak explained. She had a scar like I did on her cheek.

"Nice to meet you all... So is this the group of the aces?" I asked slowly. They all nodded.

"That's great! We were thinking of becoming Aces too..." I heard Savie explain to them. I nodded back.

"What's your reasoning? I mean, there's lots you can think of to become an ace..." Samuel explained. It was true.

"I mean, the ace always beats a king in the game of life." I explained, that showed him a lot of what I felt apparently. I noticed him seeing the mark of Kiharn on me.

"I see then. Come in." He told all of us. He took us to a nice and large table for food. They looked like a functional family. Unlike how life used to be. I think he understood why I wanted to be an ace. One word: Revenge.

"So we can get you all some food and a room if you're joining the Aces..." Luna explained. It made sense. I mean, if they were going to let us stay here then yeah. We would need food. It would be a good fill up.

"That would be nice..." Mari said back with a kind expression. I smiled slightly, it was hard for me to remember to smile after mason. It hurt. To remember why I had the ring on my pinky.

"Alright, no problem, I'm 22. I assume you are all younger than me but that's fine. Anastatsi is only 12 so..." Luna explained to us all. I nodded, Lillith was 20? I didn't remember. But she was the oldest of the group before we joined the Aces. Or well decided to try and join them.

"So Willow... What is your last name?" Samuel asked. It was odd. But I still answered him.

"Blackblade. Why?" It was a needed question.

"Oh. No reason, just curious." He explained as he set a place on the table, it was a bunch of dinner rolls and they let us dig in. To be fully honest it was needed. Food.

"We can fix you up in a room soon, alright kiddos?" Max asked as we nodded. He explained how he would put me, Mari and Savie in one and then Lillith and her girlfriend in the other.

He got us to those rooms after food. I laid down in the bed on one side of Savie, Mari on the other as we all were able to fall asleep.
