I woke up and just remembered I had five new people in my home. Shoot.
I knew the one. I just can't say who they are. I won't tell them our relationship. I can't. I can't explain this to you at all. I mean I'm 23 and know a kid. This isn't good at all... If only our parents told them...
"Samuel?" It was Luna asking, I could tell it was her.
"Yeah 'la lune?'" it was a bad habit to call her 'the moon' in french. I mean, NO it wasn't bad but I needed to stop doing it.
"Should we tell them how the 'code' works?" It was the one question I always dreaded from Luna, Max or Annie (Short for Anastatsi.) I never wanted to tell people that one person needed to die. I knew who I couldn't kill so...
"I can inform them on the 'code'." I muttered grimly. I never liked doing this stuff...
"What code?" It was the youngling with Willow and her friends. Salvito. Gods this poor kid didn't need more trauma than he already had.
"Uh, Well tell you with the rest of the group." I explained quickly to hide my panic. I couldn't tell him, Well. I shouldn't tell him.
Later in the afternoon we had made a big enough meal for all of us to have lunch. I felt bad for what I would need to tell them in a moment.
"Attention! Everyone!" Max, the gayer out of me and him called out to the room. "My good friend Sammy (Nickname for me) has something to say!!"
"Uh, Yeah. About that." I was fumbling with my words in my head for what I'd tell them. "Within the Ace's code, we have five main rules. Rule one, Keep a close eye, this is meaning on friends and foe. If needing to check in on a member of the Ace's family. Rule two, be ready for anything. Something could break out at any time. Rule three, Be persistent, Don't give up during a challenge. If you do, you could die. Rule four, Help lift others and give respect. We are all family but we need to keep standards too. And Finally, When we get a group of new members, one must die. Meaning we will see how you train and in a week's time we will make a hard decision." I finished, it hurt to remember how many people have died by those rules.
"Wait, one of us has to die? For the other four to get in?" It was Willow asking, I sighed. I wouldn't kill a fellow member of the Blackblade family, especially my mothers Daughter.
"One. But I will say we can't kill anyone under nineteen." I explained to them.
"But that only leaves me and Patricia!" The red head said, Her name was Lillith? Yeah. Lillith.
"I'm sorry then." I told her. "But the coded rules can't be broken."
"But that isn't fair!!" She was getting mad. From what I assumed her girlfriend Patricia held her hand and tried to calm her down. I sighed.
"I'm very sorry." I mumbled as we all finished the food and then put Lillith and Patricia to training. This would be a great week.
I groaned as me and Anastasi went into another room.
"I really don't know..." I explained as I flopped into the chair In her and Luna's room. They were lucky to live with their siblings. I would get to now but that's beside the point. She doesn't even know.
"Probably the light brunette girl. She's what 22?" Annie asked, he wasn't wrong.
"Probably, Im tired though. Call it for a break? Mari and Max'll be fine and you can do what you feel." I told her as I wanted to sleep. I was dragged to my feet as she took me to my room. I laid in bed before thinking over this life.
Do I deserve this? Do I need to follow every rule? I should've helped her. Why am I doing this? Gods I need sleep. Dang it.
Well news flash after an hour. I didn't sleep. I'm still laying here staring at my dumb ceiling. Remembering and letting the rules play in my head. This wasn't going to be fair. At all!! I groaned and laid there. Tossing and turning. This was hell.
"Sammy? Love?" It was max.
"Yeahn babe?" I asked him as I was in our bed still.
I felt it dip and him cuddle up to me.
"You're like a kitten ya know?" I asked him as I gently cuddled back with him.
"I think so? I still don't care though." He explained as I finally dozed off, him in my arms.
