Felix ran down the hallway and flew the door to his and Nikolai's bedroom. In the bedroom a very confused Russian husband held the book he was reading close to his chest as he sat in bed. Felix jumped onto the bed and tackled Nikolai into it.
"Look at this!"
Felix shoved a piece of paper into Nikolai's face. They both laid there until Nikolai sighed and took the paper.
"If you could get off me and let me sit up I shall look at paper. I cannot see when you have it so close to me."
"Oh, right. Haha! Sorry babe I got a little excited." Felix apologized as he rolled off of him. He sat up with a grunt and took a good look at the paper.
The paper was a poster. New Hope, Pennsylvania, was hosting an official Halloween festival. After getting married they traveled to the newly built town of New Hope to hopefully start a family away from the ruckus of the big cities like New York or Moscow that the couple was used to. The poster stated that the festival was an all day event with carnival games, apple picking, pumpkin carving, and trick or treating at night. Parents and children should dress up in wacky, spooky, cute, or clever costumes for the event. There was also going to be a pie competition. 'So that was what you were excited about.' Nikolai chuckled to himself.
"So, what do you think? Halloween has been getting popular recently, and I think it would be a fun activity to do with the family! We can even bring your dad along, since I'm pretty sure he hasn't done something like this since the 18th century."
Nikolai pretended to think about it for a moment. He loved seeing Felix pleading excessively with his face. The way he stuck out his lip, his eyebrows knitted together, and the way he leaned in close, Nikolai could kiss him silly. He waited a little bit longer until he grabbed Felix and wrapped him in a bear hug kissing all over his face and neck which made Felix giggle and squirm under his hold.
"Seems like wonderful plan Feli. We need to plan our costumes, da?" He set his head down to the crook of Felix's neck.
"I've been thinking about what our costume should be," Felix turned to his husband. "and I can ask the kiddos what they would like to dress up as." Nikolai hummed in response. He knew that the kids absolutely love their dad, especially their oldest Dmitry. He acts the most like Nikolai, and so it wasn't surprising that he latched onto Felix when he did.
"Alright, but I suggest we both brainstorm for our costumes." Nikolai suggested. Felix lifted himself to get a better look at him.
"You mean, you want to do a couples theme?" Felix smiled widely and his arms on his husbands shoulders. Nikolai snickered.
"What kind of question is that? Of course I do." He pulled Felix down and kissed him passionately. Felix wrapped his arms around his neck and returned the same intensity.
"DAAAAAD MY POTATOES ARE BOILING OVERRR!!!" Alya shouted from the downstairs kitchen. Nikolai pushed both of them up into a sitting position. Felix had the 'oh crap' face as he looked up at the ceiling.
"You were cooking???"
"And I should probably go back to cooking now loveyougoodbye-!" He kissed his husband and stumbled out of the bed and ran downstairs. He huffed and slicked his hair back. 'idyot' he thought to himself and chuckled.
