Midsummers, the day had finally came.

And just like that, another summer, another midsummers.

Midsummers was a huge kook party that occurred every year, you would dress up really fancy and enjoy the night with family and friends at figure eight's country club.

Addie walked down the stairs in a white silk dress which had straps, it was practically the same dress Sarah was going to wear.

She wore some silver heels to match and her blonde hair was tied up into a bun.

As Addie walked to into her kitchen, with her puppy, Cooper who cradled into her arms, she saw Sarah, who was sat on the island on her phone.

The girl set her dog down, signalling him to go and eat his food which she had already made.

She raised an eyebrow and looked at her sister, "Where the hell where you yesterday?"

Instantly, Sarah laid her phone flat on the island, "I was in Chapel Hill."

"Oh with who?"

She didn't answer, clearly she wanted to keep it a secret, but Adeline wasn't too bothered.

Their younger sister, Wheezie walked down the stairs, staring at Sarah, "Your not dressed?" The girl leaned down to pet the puppy that she had slowly started to like more and more everyday, grateful that her sister took him in.

"No, i'm not going."

Addie snapped her head, "Your not?"

"It's Midsummers. You've been talking about Midsummers since last year. You have a date remember?" Wheezie spoke.

"Yeah, an asshole of a date." Addie whispered.

Sarah clearly didn't want to go as she rolled her eyes, "Yes, I remember."

The awkwardness was definitely in the room, especially when Rose came downstairs.

"Hi." Adeline smiled towards Rose.

"Hey sweetie." Her step-mother replied.

Wheezie spoke, turning to Rose, "Sarah says she's not going."

Rose chuckled, as she picked up her drink, "Hell she isn't. Your father is being coronated as Guardian of Knights of the Rhododendron. You're going."

Sarah rolled her eyes, "You're not my mother, I don't have to do what you tell me."

Sarah had always used that statement against Rose whenever she tried to tell her something. She would always get her own way as Rose couldn't tell her what to do and her Dad was practically wrapped around her finger.

"Whatever." Rose scoffed and then she shouted out to Ward, "Your daughter says she's not going!"

"Um..."

"She's off Topper, JoJo."

Ward spoke, "Wheezie, please. Go." The man cleared his throat, "You too Addie, please."
