Later that day, Adeline reached for the small piece of paper that she had scrunched into her pocket from the previous hours.

She unfolded the paper to see a number that was written very messy, even a baby could probably write better than JJ's attempt. It was common knowledge that JJ wasn't the smartest person on the island, he had a rough childhood with no mom around and his dad was practically one of the most known drug addict, alcoholic on the island. So when you have that much to worry about as a kid, education dosent seem to come to mind much.

Addie reached for her phone on the bedside table, still not used to this new room of hers, it didn't feel right. She didn't have anything of hers in it, none of her homemade presents that she had kept since she was four, none of her vinyls and cds, none of her DIY silly projects, none of her jewellery, the smell of the room, the vibe of the room and the way she felt safe, it was all gone.

Despite everything feeling different, she was glad John B had a stable roof over his head for the time being, but part of her hated how he had her room, the place she grew up, where she cried, laughed, smiled and millions of memories were made just to be replaced by someone else.

Most would say it's just a room, but that room is where Adeline spent most of her time from when she moved in until she turned sixteen.

As she turned on her phone she typed in the number that was written on the scruffy note, she didn't leave a message, she just added him to her contacts.

Just as she smiled looking at her phone, she heard commotion coming from downstairs, so she crept down, trying to be as discreet as possible.

To her surprise as she stood at the bottom of the stairs, Topper entered the house heading towards Sarah.

Surely he wasn't that stupid to come talk to Sarah to try and make things right after he just pushed John B off of Hawk's Nest the night before.

As Adeline watched, she scoffed in disbelief of Topper's appearance.

"Hey." The boy spoke softly to Sarah as he walked over, scanning her eyes for any sign of emotion that would cause her to go back to him. His voice, stuttered, struggling for the words to come out of his mouth properly, "Hey, how's John B? Is he— is he doin' all right?"

"Like you give a shit." Sarah spat out. Topper was just like the rest of them, he didn't care about what was really going on with the world, as long as he could go to his rich kook parties with no problems, everything would be just fine.

"You realize I did not push him. He lost his balance and fell." Topper narrowed his eyes, trying to gaslight Sarah into believing he was innocent and did no wrong, despite her seeing what happened with her own eyes.

Sarah cut him off, "Don't you lie to me!"

Her cutting him off did not stop him from trying to explain his mistakes, to make it somewhat seem as an accident, which, sure, maybe he didn't mean for him to fall as bad as he did. But he sure as hell did push him off that tower with no regret's whatsoever. "He fell against the rail. Not my fault."

"That is messed up." Sarah scoffed standing up from the chair, to walk away from Topper and his lies.

Addie almost nearly forgot she was still just standing there, she wanted to go into the room, to argue with Topper, but, it was probably best for her sister and her boyfriend to talk amongst themselves.
