~Act 4: Aurora's POV~

The next day I awoke with Newt sitting on a chair asleep. He must have been there all night, how sweet.
I try to walk out the room without waking him up but I got no such luck.
"Aurora?" he says croakily.
"Yeah."
"Are you alright? Did you sleep well?"
"Yes did you?"
"Not really."
"Well get some sleep now then ok?" I reply walking out the door to see Vivi talking with with someone.

"Hey Rory," Minho says appearing I front of me, " wanna go running again? Thomas is coming too this time."
"Sure." I say taking one last glance back at Vivi and walking off with Minho and Thomas.

It's quite early so the doors haven't opened yet. After about 5 to 10 minutes they start to open.
"You ready?" Minho says. I nod in reply but I think he can tell i'm lying.
"Don't worry about the grievers Rory, you'll be okay." Thomas squeezes my hand reassuringly. I can tell we are going to be good friends.
"Alright let's go."

There's lots of ivy creeping up the walls was we run it. It seems to be multiplying by the day.
The sound of our in-sync footsteps and steady breathing is kind of calming. It's like if I hear a patterned sound I can forget about the greivers.
I try to map the route we take but no such luck I could remember left, right, left and that was about it.

"Do you guys remember where we go?" I say, "because my memory is shit. Sorry."
I wonder why im even a runner.
"Well, the thing is we've already mapped the whole maze. I'll tell you the full details tomorrow while Minho and some others run." Thomas says.
" okay. "

I try to memorize some more turns but then I realize that it would be no use because they already know everything anyway.

After a few hours or so it starts to get dark.
"We should probably head back." I say.
" yeah cmon let's go." Minho replies and Thomas nods.

We make our way back to the glade when I spot a griever.
"Fuck, a griever." Thomas says, obviously seeing it too.
"Quick let's go before it sees us."
"Too late."
We start to run as fast as we can but I cant keep up with Thomas and Minho.
"Aurora cmon." they slow down.
"No no it's fine...Im fine...  Carry on..." I say out of breath.  I just remembered I hadn't eaten anything all day.
" Aurora.. Have you eaten today?" Minho asks. I shake my head in response.
"That's probably why your not as fast today." Thomas says.

I can see the glade far in the distance, we're minutes away from the doors closing. I try to keep up with the others but I suddenly feel a sharp pain in my back like a knife.
I let out a scream.
"Aurora? Shit it's stung her." I hear one of them say before I collapse onto the grown I can feel myself being carried out the maze into the glade.

"Aurora? Is she okay? What happened?"
I hear Vivian and Newt say together before I start to feel my consciousness draining out. Then everything goes black.
