I GENTLY HOLD TALLULAH'S SMALL HAND AS I WAIT FOR HER TO WAKE UP. It's been days, and her gift healed her, but she still hasn't woken up. Carlisle thinks it's because of how malnourished she is, which is why she lays inside a room in our house with a feeding tube, giving her all the food she hasn't eaten.
Carlisle didn't think it would be safe for her to go to the hospital, too many questions. And that's good because I don't need to ignore the scent of all the spilt blood. I can hear the spike of a heartbeat and my eyes move to look at Tallulah who moves slightly blinks her eyes awake.
Relief washes through me. "What happened?" She blinks her dazed eyes and I give her a soft smile. "James? What happened?" She questions, a breathy whisper. "He's dead. You killed him. Victoria, ran off." Tallulah's eyes move down to her bandaged arm before they lift to look at my face.
She stares into my golden eyes, at the red flecks which now reside in them. Guilt creeps through her instantly. "Did you get the venom out?" I nod my head at her words. "Are you okay?" I gently brush my thumb over her palm. "'Cause I don't want to be the reason you drink human blood now, because I know how hard it is for you to resist and shit, I'm so sorry if you are now-" I cut of her ramble by gently pressing my lips against hers.
She moves her arms to wrap around my neck and I move mine to hold her waist before moving back. "Bella told me he killed you. Over and over again." The human had visited earlier, and she told me what actually happened. How Tallulah protected her and got herself murdered, repeatedly. But her magic healed her.
"But your body healed itself. I was terrified that I wasn't quick enough, and then your gift was on autopilot and wasn't letting any of us near you. Alice saw you change." She takes my hand gently. "I'm not going anywhere." She stares deeply into my eyes. I move my head back slightly, her soft and gentle emotions are overwhelming me.
Her warmth, her love, washes over me in a gentle wave. If my heart were to beat, it would beat in sync with hers, beating for her, and her alone. "You're stuck with me now." I smile softly at her. "I want to be with you, forever. And somehow, if I'm bitten in the future, let the venom spread, so I'll be like you." Her words make my eyes widen.
"Are you sure, you wanna be like this?" A monster? Tallulah nods her head. "I'll be a vampire if it means I can be with you forever, so be it, because I-" she cuts herself off and I'm itching for her to continue. Tallulah takes in a breath before smiling softly.
"Because I love you, Jasper." I smile instantly at her words, happiness buzzing through me. "What?" I tease with a smirk on my lips and she sighs with a chuckle, relief washing through her. "I love you, Jasper Hale." I cup her cheeks and press my lips against hers. "I love you too, Tallulah Delacruz."

"Are you sure these are our seats? They seem too good to be for us?" Rosalie questions and I take a glance down at the number on my ticket. "This is it." These are the best seats in the room, Tallulah got them for us to watch Giselle. "There's so many people here." Emmett gapes and stares out at the people piling into the chairs. "Lulah's going to be great. I just know it." The human calls out, eager to watch her best friend perform.
I hold my breath and straighten my posture, sitting myself down. Rosalie and Alice sit down beside me and after a few minutes, the lights turn off. "Ahhh, it's starting." Alice gapes and shakes my arm. She gets shushed. "Tallulah's going to be on soon. I can't wait!" Alice gets shushed again and she apologises, shrinking into her seat.
I keep my eyes on the stage, watching as Tallulah appears and my eyes stay on her, and her alone. She's beautiful, her movements are hypnotic to watch. She's perfect, absolutely perfect. I can feel her love for dance flow through me, and her happiness is overwhelming.
In almost two hours, the ballet is done and my family and I rush backstage and towards the dressing rooms. We flash our VIP and backstage access to the security and go into Tallulah's dressing room. We get there before her and she opens the door, stepping inside.
She smiles as she notices us and I go to hug her but she stops me. "Don't, I'm all sweaty." I chuckle at her words. She still looks ethereal. "I don't care." I press my lips to hers which makes Emmett cheer. I move away and take her hand. I catch the smile on Rosalie's lips. She's starting to warm up to Tallulah.
"Thank you all, for being here." Tallulah's brown eyes lock on her best friend. "That was beautiful, Tallulah." Esme calls out, and she means every word. "Thank you." Her happy eyes look at Rosalie and she raises her eyebrows. "Rose, what did you think?" I keep my gaze looking at my mate and pull her towards me gently.
"It was better than I had expected." She says and Victor claps mockingly. "The ice queen's heart is melting." I crack a laugh and Rosalie rolls her eyes. I wrap my arm around Tallulah's waist, staring down at her softly.
This woman... this human is making my eternity worth living.
