Harry sat alone in the dormitory, back in the alcove of the window next to his bed. He blew it and he knew it. For no reason he just bluntly opened his mouth and asked her about Krum. Oh my god I hate that guy, He's so dense Harry thought angrily. Like Mad Eye Moody said
"Even if Viktor Krum's head is full of sawdust he's gonna have a strategy that plays into his strengths." Harry repeated in his mind. Krum would not stop staring at Hermione and whenever she returned his gaze she'd get all flustered.
"Then she gets angry at me for looking at Cho?"Harry thought stubbornly. At first Harry thought that Hermione liked him a little more than a friend. The way they embraced at the Burrow and more recently in the common room after his chat with Sirius, and by god she was so pretty... the way her curls delicately scraped the middle of her back or how softly the same curls pressed against the front of her school robes only parting at her... god she was beautiful not plain like makeup caked Rita Skeeter."Hermione Granger a plain yet ambitious girl has taken an interest in famous wizards none other than Harry Potter." Harry smiled at the memory.
The way Harry stomach fluttered like a pixie was dancing as he read the message.
His hands went to cover his head as he remember Ron mentioning him obviously smelling her hair, Harry thought of how Hermione started grinning, and he didn't even deny Ginny's comment about how he liked Hermione not Cho. Harry looked out the window
And sighed heavily it was getting dark Neville would be here any moment now, he gets to bed quite early.●・○・●・○・●
A month and a little more has gone by since the dragon. Harry sat close to Ron separating him from Hermione. Snape leered in the back of his class. Harry thought of how scared he was facing that dragon and Hermione saved him twice during that battle. Once when she yelled for him to duck coming out of the cave and the second time when she reminded him to use his wand. A paper ball fell in front of him and Ron startling him.
Ron uncoupled it and Harry read it over his shoulder
"GET A MOVE ON OR ALL THE GOOD ONES WILL HAVE GONE" was written crudely in all capital letters in the center of the page.
Harry looked up as Ron asked Fred"Well who're you going with?" Fred bit his lip in thought and then threw another paper ball at a pretty 6th year Harry barely knew. George looked down at his lap concealing his smile as Fred crudely pointed at the poor girl then motioned with his arm a dancing motion. Ron and Harry in unison groaned in a mixture of disappointment and disbelief as she smiled at him flashing a smile and nodding.
"Well Hermione? You're a girl." Ron started bravely. Harry got Deja Vu and looked up towards the twins. Fred looked shocked George keeled over almost exploding as Ron continued "do you wanna come with me to the dance?" Ron mimicked his elder brother's dancing motion with his arms, just as professor Snape slammed a thick textbook on Ron's head.
Harry was in disbelief much mimicking Hermione's shocked expression. Harry hear a noise from the twins as George's head was under his robes as he vibrated quietly with laughter and Fred's mouth was dropped so low it almost hit the table. Ron obliviously started to say something as Hermione cut him off.
"I won't be going with you at all believe it or not someone's already asked me" Hermione said gruffly getting up and handing Snape the finished quiz "And I said yes." She finished while walking past them out of the classroom.
"Bloody hell... she's lying right?" Ron said looking at Harry laughter broke Ron and Harry's concentration as Fred and George both erupted at Ron's stupidly brave yet absolutely incredulous attempt at asking Hermione out to the ball.
