The room darkens as Mike battles the inner conflict, leaving Jake standing helpless. But the spirits, once mere observers, now move with sudden purpose. Their serene, floating forms grow more aggressive, swirling around Mike and Jake in rapid circles, their once-melodic voices turning sharp and discordant. They've been feeding off the group's pain all along, growing stronger with every doubt and every fractured bond.

Jake stands his ground, but his grip tightens on the rusted pipe. "No more games!" he yells, swinging the pipe at the nearest spirit. It passes right through the glowing figure, leaving only a trail of cold air in its wake. His panic rises as the spirits begin to close in, their forms flickering and twisting unnervingly.

The spirits' voices rise in unison, now harsh and relentless. You cannot fight the truth. You cannot escape yourselves.

Mike, still on his knees, feels the spirits' influence tightening around him, pulling him deeper into the storm of his own mind. His brother's voice, that cruel whisper, grows louder. But then—something shifts. Amid the noise and chaos, he hears another voice. Sarah's voice. Faint, distant, but unmistakable.

Mike, don't give in... You're stronger than this...

Sarah's words cut through the darkness, and suddenly, Mike can see a sliver of light. He forces himself to focus on that light, to push through the guilt, the anger, the fear. His brother's voice fades, and the weight on his chest begins to lift.

"I'm not like you," Mike says, his voice steady. "I never was."

The chamber around him snaps back into focus. The spirits, sensing the shift in Mike's resolve, hiss and swirl violently, their forms growing more erratic. Jake swings the pipe again, more out of frustration than hope, but this time, a burst of blue light erupts where the pipe connects.

Mike stands, shaky but resolute. "We're not going to let you win," he says to the spirits, his voice growing stronger with each word.

The spirits screech in response, and suddenly, the room is alive with movement. The blue figures dart toward Mike and Jake, their glowing hands reaching out to seize them. But now, something has changed. Mike can feel the power shifting. The spirits are losing their grip on him, their hold weakening as he confronts his demons.

Jake, emboldened by Mike's recovery, swings the pipe once more, striking another spirit and sending it flickering out of existence. "Keep it up!" he shouts, dodging as more spirits descend on them.

The battle is chaotic, but the tide is turning. With every swing of the pipe, with every step Mike takes forward, the spirits grow weaker, their once-formidable presence fading. The chamber trembles, the base itself reacting to the shift in power.

Finally, with one last burst of energy, the spirits let out a piercing wail and dissolve into the air, their glowing forms dissipating like mist in the wind. The room falls silent, the oppressive weight that had hung over them lifting at last.

But the victory feels hollow. Sarah is still gone, and the base's dark secrets still loom.
