As the blue spirits recede into the shadows, leaving the group shaken but unharmed, they stumble into an old control room deep within the base. The stale air is thick with dust, and the faint hum of long-dead machinery fills the silence. It's here, surrounded by the remnants of a forgotten era, that Mike's calm exterior begins to crack. He takes a deep breath and turns toward Sarah and Jake, who are watching him with a mix of fear and confusion.

"I never told you both the real reason I came here," Mike admits, his voice heavy with regret. The others exchange uneasy glances, sensing the weight of what he's about to reveal. "When I was a kid, my brother disappeared. Right here, in this base. They said it was an accident—a collapse in one of the tunnels—but my family never got answers. The official story never made sense." His words hang in the air, as cold and suffocating as the darkness that surrounds them.

Sarah steps forward, her brow furrowed in concern. "Mike, why didn't you tell us this before? If you had..."

"I didn't think it mattered. I thought I could keep it buried," Mike interrupts, his voice trembling. "But now, being here again, seeing these... things... it's all coming back. The night he disappeared, he mentioned hearing voices, seeing lights in the tunnels. Just like we did."

Jake, pacing the room anxiously, stops in his tracks. "Wait, are you saying you think your brother's disappearance has something to do with... them? The spirits?"

Mike shrugs helplessly. "I don't know. But I think they've been here long before us. They were here when my brother vanished, and they're still here now."

The revelation hits Sarah and Jake hard, bringing with it a chilling realization—they might be walking in the footsteps of someone who never made it out. The unspoken fear settles over them: What if they, too, are fated to disappear into the shadows of this forsaken place? The weight of Mike's hidden trauma now hangs between them like an invisible barrier, reshaping the dynamic of their fragile group. Trust, already strained, begins to falter as the echoes of the past loom larger with each passing moment.
