After a long, restless day apart, they finally met under the soft glow of the lighthouse- the place where their hearts first spoke louder than words. The salty breeze wrapped around them, but all Rune felt was Aaron's presence as their eyes locked, the longing in them undeniable. Aaron closed the distance between them in a heartbeat, his hands cupping Rune's face as he pulled him into a kiss so deep and consuming it stole Rune's breath. Their lips moved together with an intensity fueled by hours of yearning, their bodies pressing close as if trying to erase the distance that had kept them apart. The world around them disappeared, leaving only the echo of their shared passion and the quiet crash of waves beneath the lighthouse's warm light.
The sudden shift in the atmosphere made Rune’s heart race faster. “What is it?” he asked, breathless, his voice barely a whisper.
Aaron took a deep breath, his eyes softening as he gazed at Rune. “Rune,” he began, his voice steady but full of emotion, “these past few nights, every time we’ve kissed… it hasn’t just felt fleeting or random. It felt right. And it wasn’t just those moments; it’s you. It’s the way you laugh, the way you get lost in your thoughts, the way you look at me like I’m more than what I’ve ever believed myself to be.”
Rune’s breath caught, his heart pounding wildly in his chest as Aaron stepped closer.
“I don’t want it to stop, Rune,” Aaron continued, his voice dropping to a soft murmur. “I want to keep kissing you, holding you, being the reason you smile. I want us to be more than this undefined connection. Rune, will you be my boyfriend? Not just for now, but for as long as you’ll let me?”
Rune’s entire body froze as Aaron’s words washed over him. It was everything he hadn’t allowed himself to imagine, everything he had secretly wanted but feared to dream of. His lips parted, trembling slightly, and when he spoke, his voice was filled with disbelief and joy.
“Yes,” Rune said, his voice barely audible at first, then firmer as he repeated it. “Yes, Aaron. I’ll be yours.”
Aaron’s smile lit up the night, his usual confidence replaced by an almost boyish happiness. “You’ve just made me the happiest man alive,” he said, his voice cracking slightly with emotion.
Before Rune could respond, Aaron gently cupped his face, his hands warm and steady as he leaned in. Their lips met in a kiss that was anything but fleeting. It was deep and unhurried, filled with the unspoken promises of a love they were both ready to explore. Rune’s hands slid up Aaron’s chest, clutching his shirt as he kissed him back with equal passion.
Aaron’s lips moved against Rune’s with a tenderness that sent shivers down Rune’s spine. He kissed Rune as if trying to etch this moment into his soul, pouring every ounce of his affection into the connection. Rune responded eagerly, tilting his head to deepen the kiss, his fingers curling into Aaron’s hair.
They pulled apart briefly, their foreheads resting together, both of them breathing heavily. Rune let out a soft laugh, his cheeks flushed and his eyes shimmering with unshed tears. “I… I can’t believe this is real,” he admitted.
“It’s real,” Aaron said, his voice full of conviction as he brushed his thumb along Rune’s cheek. “And I’m not going anywhere.”
Without another word, Aaron leaned in again, capturing Rune’s lips in another kiss, this one more urgent, more consuming. Rune melted into him, his heart soaring as Aaron’s arms wrapped around his waist, pulling him impossibly closer. They kissed like the world around them didn’t exist, like nothing else mattered but the two of them.
When they finally pulled away, Rune felt dizzy, his chest heaving as he tried to catch his breath. Aaron smiled at him, his expression filled with pure adoration. “You’re incredible,” he murmured, his fingers brushing a stray strand of hair from Rune’s face.
“You’re not so bad yourself,” Rune replied, his voice teasing but his eyes filled with affection.
They continued their walk, hands intertwined and hearts full, sharing sweet glances and soft laughter as they made their way back to Rune’s house. Every step felt lighter, as if the weight of their emotions had lifted now that their feelings were out in the open.
As they reached Rune’s front steps, Rune turned to Aaron, a shy smile playing on his lips. “I had an amazing time tonight,” he said softly, his voice filled with sincerity.
“Me too,” Aaron replied, his voice low and warm. He stepped closer, brushing his knuckles gently against Rune’s cheek. “Goodnight, Bambi.”
Rune raised an eyebrow, his lips quirking up in amusement. “Bambi?”
Aaron smirked. “You’re cute, wide-eyed, and make my heart skip. Seems fitting.”
Rune rolled his eyes, but his smile grew. “Goodnight, Grumpy,” he shot back, earning a laugh from Aaron.
Aaron bent down, placing a lingering kiss on Rune’s lips, one that was soft and sweet but left both of them breathless. When they finally pulled apart, Rune’s cheeks were flushed, and Aaron’s smile was soft.
As Aaron walked away, Rune watched him go, his heart full and his mind replaying every moment of the night. Closing the door behind him, Rune leaned against it with a dreamy sigh, already counting down the hours until he could see Aaron again.
