As Aaron carried Rune away from the house, Rune’s family stood in shock and silence. Their precious boy had chosen a vampire, forsaking his mate and the tradition they held so dear.

But it didn’t take long for the shock to give way to something more sinister.

“We can’t let this happen,” Rune’s grandfather said, his voice cold and firm. “He’s being manipulated. That vampire has bewitched him.”

“I agree,” Shyla whispered, her eyes still glowing with anger and humiliation. “Rune is confused. He needs to realize what’s best for him… and that is not Aaron.”
Shyla’s mother, who had been quiet until now, finally spoke up. “We can’t force him to reject his mate openly, but perhaps we can make him realize what a mistake he’s making.”

Grandmother, normally a gentle soul, looked more worried than ever. “What if this breaks him? He’s always been sensitive… forcing him into something—”

The room was tense, the weight of their decisions clear. They would not let Rune choose his path, not if it led him away from his destiny.

Shyla, fuming with jealousy and anger, made her decision that moment. She couldn’t let Aaron live. As long as he was in the picture, Rune would never truly be hers. She needed to act, and fast.

That night, Shyla paced her room, dark thoughts clouding her mind. The rejection from Rune had shattered her, but she wasn’t the only one who was enraged by Rune’s choice of a vampire. There were others, wolves who despised vampires and everything they stood for. And Shyla knew just how to get them involved.

In the pack’s outskirts, lived a group of rogue werewolves, outcasts who held a deep-seated hatred for vampires. These wolves were known for their ruthlessness. If anyone would help her rid the world of Aaron, it would be them.

Shyla knew she was playing with fire, but desperation drove her forward. If she couldn’t have Rune, no one could. And if Aaron were eliminated, Rune would be vulnerable, broken… she would be there to pick up the pieces. He would have no choice but to return to her.

The Next Day

Shyla made her way deep into the forest, where the rogue werewolves made their camp. The smell of damp earth and the faint metallic scent of blood filled the air as she approached their hidden enclave. As she drew nearer, the hulking figure of their leader, Kael, emerged from the shadows.

Kael was a massive, scarred werewolf with glowing amber eyes and a reputation for brutality. His disdain for vampires was legendary, and Shyla knew that all she had to do was plant the seed of hatred—and watch it grow.

“What brings you here, pack wolf?” Kael growled, his voice deep and menacing. “I thought you and your kind were too good to mingle with us.”

Shyla swallowed her fear and squared her shoulders. “I need your help, Kael.”

Kael’s lips curled into a sneer. “You? Need my help? This should be interesting.”

“There’s a vampire in our territory,” Shyla said, her voice steady despite her pounding heart. “He’s… seduced one of our own. My closest friend. The pack’s heir.”

Kael’s eyes narrowed, his hatred for vampires immediately piqued. “A vampire… with a wolf? That’s disgusting.”

“He has bewitched him, convinced him to reject his destined mate,” Shyla continued, stoking the flames. “He needs to be stopped. Before it’s too late.”

Kael’s eyes glowed with savage intent. “You came to the right place. We’ll take care of this vampire problem… permanently.”

Shyla nodded, a dark satisfaction blooming inside her. Kael’s pack of rogues would do what she couldn’t. And once Aaron was gone, Rune would be hers—whether he liked it or not.
