The hospital lights flickered softly as Aaron entered Rune’s room. His heart clenched at the sight before him—Rune lay unconscious, his face pale, his body covered in bruises and cuts, wires and tubes connected to him, the steady beep of the monitor echoing in the quiet room. Aaron clenched his fists, his gaze never leaving Rune. This was his fault. He should never have left him alone.

“Who did this?” Aaron’s voice was cold, seething, but he couldn’t tear his eyes away from Rune’s fragile form.

“Kael,” Rune’s uncle replied softly, the single word barely out of his mouth before Aaron’s aura shifted.

Aaron’s entire body seemed to ignite with fury, his aura a dark, menacing energy that pulsed through the room. His eyes burned blood red, a deadly promise lurking in their depths. Those in the room took a step back, instinctively trembling under the weight of his wrath.

Without another word, Aaron turned, striding out of the hospital. A single thought consumed him: Kael would pay.

---

Aaron’s rage was a tangible force, a violent storm that seemed to pulse through the air. As he reached Kael's hideout, he barely took in the scene of wolves lounging in the shadows, casually waiting to strike. They sneered, baring their fangs in twisted smiles, but Aaron’s gaze was fixed only on Kael.

The wolf leader stepped forward, smirking as if he'd won already. “Look who’s come crawling to defend a traitor,” he mocked.

Without a word, Aaron’s hand lashed out, wrapping around Kael’s throat with a crushing grip. He lifted him off the ground with one hand, his eyes blazing a deep, deadly crimson. Kael choked, clawing at Aaron’s hand, but Aaron’s strength was unyielding.

“You made the mistake of hurting him,” Aaron hissed, his voice barely above a whisper. “And now, you pay.”

At Aaron’s words, the wolves charged. They moved in a wave, muscles rippling, snarling with deadly intent. Aaron dropped Kael, pivoting just as the first wolf lunged at his side. With a quick, brutal motion, he sent it sprawling backward, his fist smashing into its ribs with enough force to shatter bone.

Another wolf lunged from behind, but Aaron sensed it, sidestepping and grabbing it by the muzzle, twisting sharply until he heard the sickening crack of its neck. He tossed the limp body aside, already focused on the next threat. His movements were precise, lethal, each attack a ruthless blend of strength and skill. His hands became blurs, fists and claws tearing through the wolves that dared to approach.

Kael’s pack realized the threat too late. One wolf tried to leap at Aaron’s throat, but he snatched it mid-air, slamming it into the ground with enough force to send shockwaves through the earth. He stomped down, ending its movement instantly, his face a mask of fury as he turned to the next opponent.

A group of wolves encircled him, their bodies coiled to pounce, but Aaron didn’t wait. He spun in a tight, controlled motion, his fists and claws moving faster than the eye could follow. One wolf’s head snapped back, blood splattering as Aaron’s fist met its jaw, and another wolf howled as Aaron’s claws sliced through its chest.

Aaron’s strikes were relentless, and soon, the forest floor was littered with fallen wolves, groaning and motionless. Blood soaked the ground as Kael, gasping for air, scrambled to his feet. He shifted into his monstrous wolf form, towering over Aaron with deadly intent.

Kael charged, a blur of speed and fury, but Aaron anticipated his every move. The two clashed, teeth and claws bared, each strike sending echoes of impact through the woods. Kael clawed at Aaron’s side, tearing fabric and skin, but Aaron didn’t flinch. Instead, he tightened his grip on Kael’s shoulder and slammed him down, pinning him to the ground with monstrous strength.

“You think you can survive this?” Aaron growled, his voice laced with lethal promise.

Kael snarled, trying to break free, but Aaron’s hold was like iron. He punched Kael’s face, again and again, each hit fueled by the memory of Rune lying broken in that hospital bed. Blood sprayed with each blow, Kael’s face barely recognizable as Aaron’s rage drove him on, unyielding.

Finally, Kael lay motionless, wheezing, his body a crumpled mess. Aaron knelt over him, his face a mask of calm fury.

“This is for Rune,” he said, his voice barely a whisper, yet carrying the weight of a thousand promises.

With a final, brutal twist, Aaron crushed Kael’s throat beneath his grip, ending him in one swift, merciless motion. Silence fell over the woods as Kael’s body slumped lifelessly to the ground.

Aaron straightened, his gaze sweeping over the blood-soaked clearing and the defeated wolves that watched him in horror. Without a word, he turned, his focus back on Rune, and began his journey home, leaving Kael’s broken body as a stark reminder of the price of crossing him.
