The next day, Rune and Aaron decided to meet at Rune's uncle’s restaurant, a cozy spot where they could spend some quiet time together. The atmosphere was light as they talked and laughed, enjoying each other’s company after their magical night.

But suddenly, Rune’s phone rang when he saw it was one of his sisters calling. He answered, his voice soft

“Hello?”

“Baby brother,” his sister’s voice cracked with emotion. “Please come back... there’s nothing good here,” she cried, her voice trembling.

Rune's heart skipped a beat. “What happened, sis? Why are you crying?” he asked, his grip on the phone tightening, dread creeping into his chest.

“It’s Grandpa... he’s really sick. He keeps asking for you. Please, come back home.” She sobbed, barely able to get the words out.

The world around Rune seemed to blur as panic rose within him. His throat tightened. “What happened to Grandpa? I... I’m coming. Don’t worry, I’ll be there,” he promised, trying to keep his voice steady, but tears welled up in his eyes.

Aaron, sitting across from him, noticed the shift immediately. Concern etched across his face, he leaned forward. “Bambi, what’s wrong?”

Rune looked up at Aaron, his voice trembling as he spoke. “My grandpa... Aaron, he’s not well. I don’t know what’s happening. I... I need to go home.” Rune’s words came out in a shaky breath as he threw himself into Aaron’s arms, unable to hold back his tears.

Aaron wrapped his arms around Rune, holding him tightly, his voice gentle and reassuring. “It’s okay, Rune. Everything’s going to be fine. I’m here. Stop crying, Bambi,” he whispered, rubbing his back soothingly.

Rune sniffled against Aaron’s chest, trying to hold back the flood of emotions. “I need to go back,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Aaron nodded, his tone calm and composed. “I’ll book your tickets right away, okay? Don’t worry. You’ll get there, and everything will be alright. Just take a deep breath,” he said, gently pulling away to look Rune in the eyes, his thumbs wiping away the tears on Rune’s cheeks.
........

“Are you sure you don’t want me to come with you?” Aaron asked, his brow furrowed in concern.

Rune shook his head, trying to steady himself. “No, Aaron. I’ll be fine. I just need to see my grandpa and make sure he’s okay. I’ll come back as soon as he’s better,” he reassured, though his voice wavered.

Aaron sighed, his hand cupping Rune’s cheek tenderly. “But I’m going to miss you, Bambi,” he said softly, his voice filled with longing.

“I’ll miss you too, grumpy,” Rune whispered, his heart aching at the thought of being apart. He leaned into Aaron’s chest, wrapping his arms around him tightly, needing his strength in that moment.

Aaron held him close, his hands moving gently through Rune’s hair. “Promise me you’ll take care of yourself and not worry too much, okay?" Aaron said, looking up at Aaron with worried eyes.

Aaron smiled, his gaze soft as he pressed his forehead against Rune’s. “I promise, grumpy. I’ll take care of myself.” he said lovingly, his voice filled with warmth.

Rune smiled faintly through his tears. He  leaned up to peck Aaron’s lips, a soft, lingering kiss that spoke of his affection and gratitude.

But Aaron wasn’t done. He pulled Rune back in for a deeper, more passionate kiss, pouring all his emotions into it—the fear of losing him, the longing, the love that had grown between them so quickly. Rune responded immediately, melting into the kiss, feeling every bit of Aaron’s feelings through the connection of their lips.

When they finally pulled away, their breaths mingling in the cool air, Rune rested his forehead against Aaron’s, his heart heavy with both love and the sorrow of leaving.

“I’ll come back soon grumpy,” Rune whispered, holding on to Aaron for just a little longer, not ready to say goodbye just yet.

“I’ll be waiting for you my bambi,” Aaron replied softly, his voice filled with promise.

They stood there in the quiet of the restaurant, wrapped in each other’s arms, knowing that even though they were about to be apart, their bond had only grown stronger.
