                                                                               Ash's POV

"Come on wake up kiddo...Yeah I know you're tired but we should get shopping over with..." I heard Dad whisper as he gently shook me awake I opened my eyes slowly and Saw Dad smiling at me softly. "Let's go get brekfest so we have energy for shopping," Dad said as I sat up and yawned alongside Pikachu. I got up and dressed before I descended down the stairs and I saw Dad leaning against the counter with his Phone to his ear talking.

"No way I can get out of this can I?" I heard Dad ask and after a few moments, he started speaking again.  "Yeah I know it's unlike me to try to get out of a meeting but you know Family emergency and that's part of the reason I've been working remotely," Dad answered and after a bit he sighed. "Yeah, I'll be there within the hour." Then he hung up the phone.

"What was that about?" I asked as I slid into my seat at the table. "Work stuff...I have to go to a meeting that I can't get out of and I know we we were going shopping today-" Dad said as he went to grab our plates. "It's alright we can go another day," I answered as he set my plate in front of me and he shook his head. "I'm sorry I couldn't go but I do have an alternative for you going today," Dad said as he sat down next to me and I must have looked confused because Dad smiled and ruffled my hair. "You know how I said I have a lawyer friend?" Dad asked and I nodded as I started to eat my pancakes. "Well, what if I asked him if he could take you today? It's only if you're comfortable with it of course." Dad said.

This will be a nice small step before I meet Aunt Clair and I want to get to know Dad's friends just not the Elite Four not yet at least. As much as Dad says they are just colleagues I know they are friends and if Dad trusts this lawyer guy then I'll try to trust him too. I thought to myself before I nodded "Ok, I'll go call Reef," Dad said as he stood up from the table and went to the Sun Room and I continued to eat my Pancakes.

                                                                                End of Ash's  POV

                                                                                        Lance's POV

I pulled out my phone and dialed Reef's number while I waited for him to pick up I took a seat. "Hey Lance why are you calling so early?" Reef said and I could hear his coffee machine in the background and I laughed a little. "You know how I brought Ash home a few days ago?" I asked. "Yeah is the kid alright?" Reef asked, and I could hear his tone become more coherent when I mentioned Ash. "Yeah, Ash is alright we were going to be going shopping today but I called into an emergency Elite Four meeting-" I said and Reef cut me off. "Yes I will take you child shopping I'll be there in twenty minutes,"  Reef said and I blinked in surprise. "How did you know I was going to ask you that?" I asked him. "Come on Lance I'm your best friend I know you better than most people and besides I've been dying to meet your kid in person so this is the perfect opportunity," Reef said and I smiled at my friend's words.

"I'm glad you've been so supportive of me taking Ash in and I want to thank you for all your help with the court things," I said as I rubbed the back of my neck. "It's no problem and I am getting a date soon for you to pick up Ash's adoption papers from the courthouse," Reef said and I felt my breath catch in my throat I know I'll be getting custody of Ash but I'm still nervous about going to pick up the documents.

"I'll be there soon," Reef said before he hung up on me. I took a deep breath before I put away my phone, and I went back out to talk with Ash until Reef showed up.

                                                                              Ash's POV

I was petting Pikachu when the doorbell rang and I looked up and saw Dad open the door and greet the person on the other side of the door with a hug.
