Lance's POV
I pressed start on the coffee machine before I looked at the kitchen clock with read 5:45 am and I took a deep breath. I know this is going to be a long tiring conversation with Clair I know she won't react badly but she'll probably freak out purely of the fact I have a child and have hidden from her for almost two months. Then she'll completely put everything into getting to know Ash and trying to be the best Aunt because that's the type of person she is.
Just then the coffee machine beeped and I grabbed my coffee mug before I went to sit out on my porch to drink the coffee and watch the sunrise. When I was done I looked at the clock with now read 6:15 before putting my mug in the dishwasher and grabbing a water bottle from the fridge. I entered the sunroom, closed the door, sat down, and grabbed my Rotom phone. I took a deep breath and punched in Clair's number.
"Sorry, it took me a second to answer I was busy doing my early morning training," Clair said as she answered the phone. "I have something important to say so you might want to sit down somewhere," I said slowly. "Ok?...." Clair said and I heard the confusion rooted deep in her voice and it took a few seconds before I could hear the faint noise of a chair being pushed back and Clair sitting down.
"You know how I've been taking my work home with me" I asked tentatively. "Yeah...You're kinda freaking me out, Lance." Clair said and I winced in sympathy even though she couldn't see me. "Sorry about that I just have to find a way to phrase this...I...adopted a child," I said and I felt better saying it even if it took a minute to say it but now Clair was dead silent and I strained my hearing to see if I could hear anything.
Then I heard the noise the phone makes when someone hangs up the phone and I pulled the phone away from my ear and stared at it. "Well, I think I broke her," I whispered and waited for Clair to call back which she did several minutes later...
"YOU DID WHAT NOW?!!!" I heard Clair scream. "Yes, and oh wow, my ears are ringing now," I said as I shook my head to try to regain my hearing. "I Do not care about your hearing have a niece/nephew now??!!" Clair shouted and I officially kissed my hearing goodbye. "Yes and sorta no I am going to be picking up the adoption papers soon," I said. "What is their name? How old are they?? How did you meet them? When can I meet them?" Clair rapidly fired off at me and I took a deep breath and shook my head a little.
I told her the answers to her questions trying not to give away too much information since I wanted to keep my word to Ash about sticking by his side and allowing him to pick and choose what he wants people to know. "He wants to meet you but you have to be calm about it because he's still a bit nervous," I said. "Ok!... I mean I will be calm about this you can trust me with this." Clair said and I heard her take several deep breaths. "Ok come by after lunch," I said and Clair agreed before I hung up the phone.
I left the sunroom and the clock read 7:30 so I went to go make some waffles for brekfest and feed my Pokemon and when all of that was done I went to wake up Ash.
End of Lance's POV
Ash's POV
I woke up to Dad shaking me and telling me he made waffles witch resulted in me and Pikachu rushing downstairs and Dad chuckling. We ate brekfest in mostly silence since me and Pikachu were trying to wake up. "Clair said she was coming over and she's incredibly excited to get to meet you," Dad said as we were doing the dishwasher and I nearly froze. I know I want to meet Aunt Clair but it still doesn't ease my fears that she won't like me when she meets me.
