The diner

I have been home for a few hours now. Dylan has gone to hang out at his friend's house for the night. I have done some work and now just got out the shower.

Cayleigh texted me earlier with the details to meet them at a local restaurant at 6:30pm. It's about 6:10pm now so I got dressed into a casual outfit, did my hair and makeup and sprayed my favourite perfume.

Almost instantly, Christina has viewed and liked my story but again.. no message. As per usual.

I just roll my eyes at my phone, threw it in my bag and left the house.

The restaurant was about a 15 minute walk from my house and the walk felt nice. I could really clear my head.

I got to the restaurant and headed inside. I could see Cayleigh and two other girls sat at a table in the middle of the restaurant. As soon as Cayleigh saw me she jumped up and hugged me.

"Heyyyyy Allie so glad you're here. These are my friends, Taylor and Jessica." She pointed to each one.

Jessica has red hair, freckles and fresh faced. Very pretty. Taylor has curly brunette hair with dark features. Extremely beautiful.

"Hi love, you must be Allie, it's lovely to finally meet you. Cayleigh hasn't stopped talking about you since earlier." Taylor said and we all started laughing.

"Oh gosh, I hope nothing bad." I said looking at Cayleigh who looked like she was blushing a little.

"No, not at all. She thinks your very cool and that we would all get along." Jessica explained.

We ordered our food and I told them all about myself and where I come from. We all seem to be getting on great and have a lot in common.

After a while I thought I heard a voice I recognised behind me. I whipped my head round. Oh my god she's here. Miss Powers walked in with another taller woman trailing behind her. She looked so annoyed. They both sat down in a booth just to the side of us. I don't think Christina has seen me yet.

Thank goodness.

I carry on with our conversation between us girls and asked all about them as I really want to make some friends here.

Christina and this other woman seemed to be having an argument. Christina's hands are flying all over the place and the other woman seems to be trying to grab her hand. Christina isn't having any of it and pushes her hand away.

Oh this might be 'Tate.' I thought to myself.

The waiter brings over our drinks and food and we enjoy our meal after our meal we order another round of drinks and sit and talk some more.

I suddenly feel Cayleigh's hand trail across my stomach which made me flinch as I wasn't expecting the physical contact.

"Hey babe relax, I was just telling the girls before you arrived about all your tattoos. You have a lot of them." She said as she bit her lip at me.

Is she flirting with me?

"Ohhhh yea, my plan is to be covered one day. I love art so why not be covered in it." I said back to Cayleigh and the girls. We discussed tattoos a bit more and the girls showed me theirs. They then said they want me to tattoo them at some point. Which I agreed to do.

Jessica went on to explain about a new guy she likes and they all seemed interested in the conversation.

I looked round to see Christina staring at me so intensely then back at Cayleigh. I shifted in my seat as I was so uncomfortable.

"I'm just going to the bathroom." I said to the girls smiling.

I just needed a break, I started washing my hands when I heard someone walk through the door in a hurried manner.

It was Miss Powers. She checked all the stalls to make sure they were empty. "What the hell was that about Allie?!" She shouted walking towards me.

"What do you mean?" I asked really confused backing up against the door.

"Her!! Having her hands all over you. I don't want to see that." Her arms boxed me in against the door.

"She was just explaining to her friends that I have tattoos. It was nothing. Why do you care anyway? You've showed me nothing since my first day. I've tried engaging with you and you give me nothing!! Your here with another woman anyway so why does it matter who I hang around with?" I said back to her trying to sound confident.

Her arms dropped towards the floor and she started backing up, folding her arms.

"That's my ex, Tate, she isn't taking the hint that we are over. We were engaged a long time ago but I ended it as she cheated constantly. She calls and texts me non stop so I asked her to meet me here tonight to talk and get her to back off." She started to explain.

"You should have told me Christina, I'm sorry you are going through this but you don't need to go through it alone." I said walking towards her grabbing her cheeks, stroking them gently.

"I'm so sorry Allie, I should have been honest. I didn't mean to shut you out. I have a lot of my plate at the moment." She said looking into my eyes.

"You don't need to apologise, you can talk to me. I'm here for you, okay?" I said softly, holding her hand.

We both looked deeply into each others eyes. Christina learned in to kiss me but we were interrupted when someone walked in causing us to both jump back. Christina just smiled at me and left the bathroom in a hurry.

I left it a couple of minutes before heading back to the table. We stayed in the restaurant for another half hour or so before heading out.

"Thank you for inviting me tonight Cayleigh. It was lovely meeting you both." I said to Taylor and Jessica.

"It was so lovely meeting you too Allie. As you know, the Halloween school dance is coming up soon and we should all dress up and go together." Jessica said.

"Ohh yea, that sounds great. I've never been to a college dance before, and I love dressing up. That sounds like so much fun. My roommate Dylan and his friends Noah and Hudson are going to, maybe we could all go together?" I asked excitedly.

"Yes definitely, the more the merrier! Can't wait to meet them." Taylor said.

Cayleigh hugs me, "Tonight was so much fun and it was lovely getting to you know more Allie. I can't wait to see you all dressed up." She whispered into my ear allowing her lips to gently brush against my ear. I couldn't help but blush which I think she noticed as she started smirking at me.

We all separated and I started walking back home.
