First it hurts, then it changes you

*Allie's POV*

My life is over.

I run through the crowded hallways as fast as my feet can physically carry me. Tears are streaming from my eyes whilst I sprint through a sea of students all turning around sniggering and laughing at me. It's a moment in my life where I feel like everything is happening in slow motion around me.

I feel like I'm drowning in my own emotions and I can't come up for air. My head can't break through the surface of the water. I'm pushing and gasping for breath but I can't seem to break through.

I burst out into the street and run, I must have been running for over 2 hours before I even realise what's going on. I'm heading towards Castle Island beach. I just need some fresh air. I need some time to think, I need space.

I pull out my phone and I have 11 missed calls and texts from Christina.

Call me back Allie. I'm worried where are you?

Princess please reach out.

I'll come get you, where are you?

Christina
Baby please contact me. I'm so worried. Call me back.

I put my phone back into my pocket. I know Christina is there for me but I just need space from everyone.

I take my shoes and socks off and walk onto the sand. The feeling of the gritty sand in between my toes feels so grounding. I stride down towards the sea. I take a seat on the sand. I watch the waves crash onto the shore and the surrounding rocks in front of me, they leave white foamy lines as the water reacts back. I watch this over and over for hours. I can feel my body start to fully relax. It's the first time my body has relaxed in about 24 hours. My muscles ache from tensing for so long.

After a while, I feel like the waves are washing all my emotions away. I feel nothing; no pain, no thoughts, no one judging me. Even if it's just for a brief moment, right now, I'm floating. I'm truly at peace. I wish I could stay like this forever.

After some time, it's so dark out by now. I guess I better get back. I pull out my phone again. I have loads of missed of calls and texts from everyone.

I met Ella this evening about those photos. She works for the Police department, she said they will investigate who did this and then I will destroy them.

I haven't even got the energy to text anyone back. I put my socks and shoes back on and I drape my bag over my shoulders. I shove my hands into my pockets of my jacket and put my head down. It's going to be a long walk home but it will do me some good.
