The lucky one- Bejeweled- chapter 32
Claire's POV

October 2nd

– You are kidding me, right?– I ask Taylor absolutely dumbfounded when she requests me in the living room to watch American football.

– He's your brother in law, babe! Family supports family. I'm actually planning on showing up at one of his games to make our relationship public.

I'm so in shock seeing Taylor with a popcorn bucket waiting for the NFL game to start that I actually sit there and put a hand on her forehead.

She chuckles.

– I'm not sick, babe, just in love.

– Yeah I could've figured it out myself.

– Come on, it's not really complicated. I can teach you the little I know about it.

I roll my eyes until they disappear inside my head.

– Fine, I'm bored anyway.

Then I sent a picture to Victor and to Ethan. Man… Ethan is going to freak the hell out, but obviously, I can't tell him why I decided to start watching football out of nothing, so I'm gonna have to figure out some lame excuse.

– Why are you so focused on your phone, Sis? Football boy is texting you?– I tease her after she looks at her phone for a hundred times in 2 minutes.

– I'm waiting for a text.

I don't ask further. Understanding is something probably personal.

– Yes!– She exclaims, and I send an annoyed glance at her.

– What now?

– The doctor gave me authorization to bring mom to know ‘little fighter’ in NICU tomorrow. After that, I'll let you all know her full name.

I smile at the thought of Taylor adopting a baby.

– I always knew you would be a mom, but now that's about to happen, it's weird seeing you like a mom. You are just too fun to be a mom.

She burst out laughing.

– I promise you nothing is going to change. I'm still your fun sister, I'll still be there every day, soundchecking and rehearsing, but the difference is some of my time I'm going to spend making bottles and changing diapers.

– Gross. I'm already making it pretty clear I won't help you with that.

– I don't expect you to. – She chuckles.– but if you can eventually help mom to watch her so I can go out with public events, I would be really happy.

– Well… if you pay me to babysit, I do even the diapers and put her to sleep. 100 dollars per hour.

She furrows her eyebrows, finding it funny.

– What? You are a billionaire, not me, and if my memory is right, you told me back in may that if I do something for you, I earn some payment.

– In fact, I did. Deal, babe. 100 dollars per hour is an acceptable offer. But I'm curious, though. Are you saving money now?

– Yes.

– Can I ask you why?

– No.

She laughs and shakes her head in amusement.

– Ok, Sis.

The game starts, and I'm about to fall asleep on the couch 40 minutes later.

– Go Travis!
