She gawked at him as he walked to the prettiest girl on campus, showed her his abs and allowed her to touch them. After receiving her number a smirk appeared on his face and he got uncomfortably close to her.
The sight sickened her so she turned to look at Aarav, her friend who happened to be devouring a sandwich. "How can you eat?!" She questioned him, her hands on her hips a little dramatic. "Just look at him! Messing with that poor girls mind." She scowled.
Aarav shook his head. "Don't be so serious Maahi, it's just a stupid bet."

Maahi gasped, her eyes wide. "Bet? Just a bet?" Was Aarav even in the right senses! "What about that girls feelings, huh? You think they're made of metal?!"
"Darling, those type of girls don't have feelings." A voice spoke. Maahi looked up to see Karthik walking towards her, a smug smile on his lips.
"Really?! God, Karthik I hate being your friend! You sicken me, I mean at least put your shirt back on!" Maahi retorted throwing his shirt at his bare chest which he grabbed swiftly.
Putting his shirt back on he said "Tumhare kitne nakre hain (You have so many attitudes)." He teased with his eyes narrowed.
"Just shut up!" Maahi glared at him. She looked up pleading to the higher source above. "Bhagvan ji kyun, kyun muhje in idiots ka dost banaya (Why God, Why did you make me friends with these idiots)." She said, but her attention shifted to the unfamiliar faces around her in the corridors.
She had totally forgotten that today was the day Evergreen students were moving to her college, Stanley. It was a pretty high class college. You must have been a billionaire to get an admission here. Luckily, Maahi had gotten a scholarship not belonging to a high class family, yet Karthik and Aarav do.
Karthik began clapping to gain Maahi's attention. "Look Mahi!" He pointed at the huddle of girls who seemed oblivious and lost as it's their first day. "Those new students are going to be easy. I'll give you a clear example of how all girls are the same." He sounded confident.
Maahi shut her eyes, her voice came out strained. "Please don't Karthik..." But Karthik is Karthik, nothing can stop him.
Just to clarify it to Maahi, Karthik began looking around trying to find a girl who didn't seem much clever and would probably give her number. Although he said to Maahi, that all girls are the same, but he knew this wasn't true. Some girls are like Maahi, smart. But he coudnt risk his chances of not being able to get a number, otherwise he will have to listen to Maahi all day, or even worse his whole life complaining that she was right.
"I can approach any girl and get her number because of my abs." He boasted throwing his shirt at Aarav who looked up taking his focus from his sandwich.
His eyes scanned the flood of students. His eyes landed on a girl, a map in her hands? C'mon, he thought. If she needs a map she must be pretty stupid, so he slowly walked towards her. "My name is Karthik, naam toh suna hi hoga (You must have heard it before)."
The girl looked up at him blankly hearing his words but he only smiled and moved closer to her closing the gap between them. "I have never met a girl so sexy as you I mean... you're so hot." His voice purred.
She still didn't answer.
Deciding to move to the next pick up line, "I-" but before he could say more a mist blinded him and began burning his black orbs. His voice screeched in pain, his eyes feeling as if they were being cooked on an open fire.
Just at that moment everything went back. His head drifted and his back hit the hard concrete floor.
Karthik heard Maahi yell his name but wasn't in his senses to be sure if it was her. The dumb girl wasn't such a dumb girl and she had pepper sprayed him.
"I'm so sorry." The girl sounded apologetic. "I just get nervous when people do these things." She said stepping back and biting her lip.
Karthik sat up, he tried opening his eyes but failed. "You mean flirt." He looked at the girl, one eye open and the other shut immensely tight. "Flirting is pretty normal!"
All of a sudden his breath slowed down as ice was placed on top of his eyes. "Maahi!" Karthik cried. "Stop laughing and go and get me my shirt. My eyes feel slightly better but I'm still going to the nurse."
"Oh, so now you want you shirt back?" Maahi said. "I hate you so much you can't even think straight, and forbid me for caring about you."
Aarav, Maahi and the pepper girl helped Karthik up and took him to the colleges nurse. Karthik sat on a chair in the room as he waited for the nurse to return with medication.
"Again, I'm really really sorry. I hope you can forgive me." The pepper girl apologised for the millionth time. She turned to Karthik and gave him a weak smile. "My name is Asha."
"Karthik." He told her and that's when Maahi quickly jumped forward. "My name is Maahi and he is Aarav." She nudged him and proceeded. "Unfortunately, hum iske dost hain [We are his friends]."
Asha smiled. "I shall go and find my classes now. It's my first day here and I don't wanna be late." She looked at Karthik, and he straightened himself. "If there is anything you need just let me know, I will be more than happy to help." She offered to him.
"Hey." Aarav said. Karthik head shot towards him noticing the mirth in his voice. "I can help you find your classes. I know this college more than anybody."
Asha and Aarav left leaving Karthik and Maahi alone.
"Did you see that? Aarav ne flirt kiya par uss Asha ne usko pepper spray nahi kiya! (Aarav flirted, but Asha didn't pepper spray him!)." He was honestly annoyed.
"Because he was wearing a shirt." Maahi pointed out. "Plus, he's a gentleman, you're not."
She wasn't finished. That's when he thought she was thinking of storming out, and she did.
