UKRAINE
She went to receive the doorbell an hour past noon, expecting to see a delivery man holding lunch ingredients, and got a rather shocking surprise to see Russia and America standing in the doorframe.

"You went outside?" she asked, as the two piled back in like it was no big deal at all. "We all thought you were sleeping and already had brunch. Any— er— special occasion?"

"Russia chased the Axis Representatives down," America said casually, disregarding the look she gave him. "They're coming for dinner, by the way."

The initial shock effect turned into more of an assault as Ukraine's mind slowly processed the words that had just been rallied to her.

"The— Axis?" she repeated slowly, annunciating every syllable. Exhilarating heat rose to her face. "I— how— where—"

"I'll explain to everyone else as well later." Russia flung his shoes to one side. "Are they awake?"

"Yes, but—"

America laughed. "I was as surprised," he said, waiting for her as they walked into the living area together.

"This isn't a prank or something?" Ukraine asked, dark blue eyes still glistening with surprise. "And if it's not—"

"It's actually not," Russia replied, to which Ukraine snapped and said they should let her finish at least one of her sentences first.

"Prank about what?" China's voice came from afar, sprawled across the couch in the living area. There was a lingering smell of food — some pastry, from the scent, but the tables were clean and the sinks devoid of dishes. North was scrolling on his phone next to China, South and Poland hadn't missed a minute to engage in another game of Nintendo, Japan was looking through a tourist magazine, and Canada and Germany had somehow found and begun playing a chess game.

"We found the Axis Representatives," Russia said.

Seven heads turned to face him. China looked like his soul had just left his body.

There was a loud outburst of absolutely everything at once. Yells, loud exclamation, someone choked, and South boomeranged his console halfway across the room because his losing streak was growing more by the moment.

"How?" North asked.

"Where?" Poland raised an eyebrow.

"I asked those same questions," said Ukraine somewhat proudly.

"Wait, everyone hold," China interrupted the chaos, raising his hands and dodging the flying console just in time. "Explain in excruciating detail how you managed to bring this news back."

"Russia saw Facist Italy on TV; he was being interviewed for a tourist video in Times Square and he rushed both of us out of the house and into a taxi so we could try and catch him there," America said, hands on his hips.

"It was like a mad goose chase across Times until America somehow found him in a store called Vintage on 46th. And then we showed them our Airbnb address, told them to come at five pm for dinner, and had brunch there before coming back," Russia finished.

"How...spontaneous," North gaped. "And stupid."

"Not like you did it!" America retaliated shrilly.
