Jin stepped back, surveying the room filled with festive decorations, and turned to Mia, who was lost in the moment. Her face glowed under the twinkling lights, her eyes shining with excitement.“Looks beautiful, doesn’t it?” Jin said, his voice softening as he took in the sight of her. “And it’s only going to get better.”
Mia smiled back at him, her heart swelling with warmth. “I can’t believe how much we’ve done today. It feels like Christmas already!”
Jin stepped closer, wrapping an arm around her waist. “Well, we couldn’t have done it without our little helper,” he said, nodding toward Jiwoon, who was blissfully asleep on the couch.
As Mia leaned into Jin’s side, feeling the warmth radiating from him, she couldn’t help but feel grateful for these moments. This was the life she had dreamed of—a life filled with laughter, love, and the simple joys of family.
“You know, I think we should have a little celebration,” Jin suggested, his tone mischievous. “We’ve worked hard today, and what better way to reward ourselves than with some hot cocoa and Christmas cookies?”
“I’m all for that!” Mia exclaimed, her eyes lighting up at the thought. “But shouldn’t we wait for Jiwoon to wake up?”
Jin shrugged, a playful grin spreading across his face. “Just a little sneak preview, then. We can leave some cookies for him to decorate later!”
“Okay, but we have to keep it a secret,” Mia whispered conspiratorially, her heart racing at the prospect of indulging in their own little Christmas treat.
They made their way to the kitchen, Jin taking the lead. As he reached for the hot cocoa mix, he leaned over the counter, unintentionally giving Mia a perfect view of his backside.
Mia bit her lip, a teasing glimmer in her eye. “You know, if you keep standing like that, you might make it difficult for me to concentrate on the cocoa,” she said playfully.
Jin turned around, a smirk on his face. “Oh really? Is that so?”
“Definitely,” she replied, stepping closer to him, her fingers grazing the edge of the countertop as she leaned in. “You might just distract me from the holiday spirit.”
“Who needs holiday spirit when we can have a little fun instead?” Jin teased, his voice low as he stepped closer, his presence making her pulse quicken.
As they prepared the hot cocoa, Jin continued to throw little playful comments in Mia’s direction, trying to keep her on her toes. Each time she tried to focus on the task at hand, he’d lean in just a little too close or brush against her in a way that sent butterflies dancing in her stomach.
“Careful there, chef! You might spill some cocoa,” he teased as he moved behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her against him.
Mia tried to suppress her laughter, her cheeks flushing. “Jin! I’m trying to pour!”
“Pouring’s overrated! Come on, let’s make this interesting,” he said, his voice dripping with mischief.
Before Mia knew it, Jin was guiding her hands as they both poured the cocoa into mugs, their bodies pressed together. The warmth of the cocoa was nothing compared to the heat radiating between them.
“Perfect!” he exclaimed, releasing her hands as they both took a step back. “Now, let’s add the marshmallows.”
As they finished preparing their cocoa, Jin leaned against the counter, watching Mia with an amused expression. “You know, I’ve always wondered… do you like it when I tease you?”
