The next day dawned bright and clear, the sun spilling golden rays into Jin’s spacious mansion. After a restless night of anticipation, Jin woke early, determined to make a good first impression on Mia as she moved in. He had a strong sense of responsibility not only to his son, Jiwoon, but also to Mia, who was stepping into a new role in their lives.Jin quickly prepared breakfast for himself and Jiwoon, making sure to include the little things his son loved—pancakes with chocolate chips, a side of fresh fruit, and a glass of milk. He wanted this morning to feel special, a sign that their new arrangement would be a positive one.
As Jiwoon ambled into the kitchen, rubbing his eyes sleepily, Jin greeted him with a smile. “Good morning, buddy! Are you ready for a big day?”
“Yay! Morning!” Jiwoon chirped, his voice brightening the room. He climbed into his chair at the table, still in his pajamas, and blinked at the spread before him.
“Look what I made!” Jin said, placing a plate of pancakes in front of him. “Pancakes with chocolate chips, just how you like them!”
Jiwoon’s eyes lit up, and he reached for his fork, digging in with enthusiasm. “Yummy! Daddy makes good food!”
Jin chuckled at the praise, his heart swelling with affection for his son. “I try my best. After breakfast, we have a special visitor coming over.”
“Who?” Jiwoon asked, his mouth full of pancake.
“Mia! Remember the nice lady from the grocery store? She’s moving in with us today,” Jin explained, watching as Jiwoon’s eyes widened in excitement.
“Mia! Yay!” Jiwoon exclaimed, bouncing in his chair. “I wanna show her my toys!”
“Absolutely! You can give her a tour of your room,” Jin said, his smile matching his son’s enthusiasm. He was relieved to see Jiwoon so eager about Mia’s arrival; it meant that his little boy was open to new beginnings.
After breakfast, Jin helped Jiwoon get dressed, trying to pick out a nice outfit that would make him look presentable. He settled on a cute graphic tee featuring a cartoon character Jiwoon loved, paired with comfortable shorts.
“Perfect! You look like a little superstar,” Jin declared, ruffling Jiwoon’s hair, which earned him a giggle from his son.
As the morning wore on, Jin could feel a mixture of excitement and nerves building inside him. He wanted everything to go smoothly as Mia settled into their home. He had arranged for her to move in around ten, and he hoped Jiwoon would adjust well to having her around.
When the clock struck ten, Jin’s heart raced as he heard the sound of a car pulling into the driveway. He walked to the door, opening it to reveal Mia standing there, carrying a few bags and wearing a warm smile.
“Good morning, Jin! I hope I’m not too early,” she said, looking vibrant and ready for the day.
“Not at all! We’ve been waiting for you. Come in, let me help you with those,” Jin replied, stepping aside to let her enter.
Mia walked in, her presence immediately filling the space with warmth. She had brought a few boxes and a couple of bags filled with her belongings, ready to set up her new room. As she stepped inside, she glanced around, taking in the sight of her new surroundings.
“Wow, it’s beautiful here,” she said, looking impressed.
“Thank you! I’m glad you like it. Let me show you to your room,” Jin said, leading her down the hall. He opened the door to a cozy guest room that was bright and inviting, with a view of the garden outside. “This is your space. Feel free to arrange it however you like.”
