The days rolled on smoothly as Jin, Mia, and Jiwoon enjoyed their time together, basking in the warmth of their new family dynamic. However, in the back of Jin’s mind, there was always the unsettling presence of Mina, his ex-wife, and Jiwoon’s mother. While he had made peace with his past, he knew that Mina could be unpredictable and had a knack for stirring trouble.

It was a typical Tuesday evening when Jin received a text from his lawyer. The words sent a shiver down his spine: Mina was requesting a meeting to discuss custody arrangements. Jin’s stomach knotted. After everything they had been through, he didn’t want Mina to disrupt the peace they had finally found.

Mia noticed his unease as she set the dinner table, the soft clink of dishes breaking the silence. “Everything okay?” she asked, looking up from her task with concern etched across her face.

Jin sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Mina wants to meet to discuss custody again,” he admitted, his voice heavy.

Mia paused, placing the silverware down. “Do you want me to come with you?” she asked, her tone firm. “You shouldn’t have to deal with her alone.”

Jin met her gaze, warmth spreading through him at her offer. “I appreciate it, Mia, but I don’t want to put you in that position. She can be… difficult.”

“I’m not afraid of her,” Mia replied defiantly, her eyes shining with determination. “If she tries to cause problems, I’ll stand up for you and Jiwoon.”

Jin felt a swell of admiration for her bravery. “You really mean that?”

“Of course. You and Jiwoon are my family now. I won’t let anyone come between us,” she said, her voice steady.

“Thank you, Mia. That means more to me than you know,” Jin said, feeling his heart warm. “I’ll let you know when the meeting is set.”

That night, as they settled in for the evening, Jin couldn’t shake off the tension that hung in the air. After tucking Jiwoon into bed, he turned to Mia, who was tidying up the living room. “Hey, come here,” he said, opening his arms.

Mia smiled and walked into his embrace, resting her head against his chest. “What’s on your mind?” she asked softly.

“Just thinking about how much I want to protect you both. I hate the thought of Mina trying to come between us,” Jin confessed, his arms tightening around her.

“I’ll fight for you both, Jin. You don’t have to worry,” Mia assured him, looking up into his eyes. Her sincerity struck a chord within him, filling him with a sense of comfort.

Jin leaned down, capturing her lips in a deep kiss. The world around them faded away as he poured all his love and gratitude into that one moment. Mia melted against him, responding eagerly, her hands tangling in his hair.

As the kiss deepened, Jin felt his desire igniting. He pulled away slightly, breathing heavily. “Mia…”

“Yes?” she whispered, her cheeks flushed.

“I want you,” he said, his voice low and filled with yearning.

Mia’s breath hitched at his words, and without needing to say another word, she nodded, her eyes sparkling with desire. Jin took her hand and led her to the bedroom, his heart racing in anticipation.

Once inside, he closed the door behind them, turning to face her, his gaze filled with heat. Mia stood in front of him, her cheeks flushed, an inviting smile on her lips.

“Are you sure?” he asked, wanting to ensure she felt the same intensity he did.

“More than ever,” Mia replied, her voice barely above a whisper as she stepped closer, their bodies inches apart.
