It was the night of Y/n's school talent show, and she was about to perform one of her favorite songs, Opportunity, from her all-time favorite movie, Annie. She'd rehearsed the song every day for a month, almost driving her family crazy in the process, and it was finally her time to shine and show everybody her lovely singing.
Listening to the principal announcing her first and last name as the next contestant, Y/n took a deep breath and stepped onto the school's small assembly stage. She gulped, slightly nervous as she noticed all the eyes in the room were focused on her. Moving over to the microphone stand and taking a confident stance, she looked for her family in the large crowd of students and visitors, and eventually her eyes landed on the only person whose appearance really mattered. Liam smiled back at his baby sister, sending her a reassuring nod and two thumbs up in encouragement. Y/n sighed, ready to perform as she knew her supportive brother was watching.

Y/n grinned with amazement as the crowded room became full with the sound of everyone applauding her beautiful voice. A single tear of happiness and pride rolled down Liam's cheek. He looked up at his small sister, standing on the stage all by herself, with all her joy showing through the sparkle in her eyes. Y/n excitedly skipped backstage after giving an adorable little curtsy and blowing a kiss to Liam. Two other students' performances later, Y/n was called back on stage to receive a small trophy for her performance, and was congratulated as the show's winner. She thanked the principal, teachers and audience, took her award, then met her parents and siblings in the hall of the school, immediately tackled with hugs and kisses.
"I knew you'd be great, Y/n. You have such a big, beautiful voice." Liam tucked a strand of hair behind Y/n's ear, taking her hand and leading her to the car outside.
