Louis had just pulled up in the driveway when he glanced towards the backseat and his eyes landed on Y/n, her eyes closed and breathing steady. He smiles to himself as he climbed out of the car and made his way around to her door, opening it and unbuckling her seatbelt.
"Darling... we're home," he murmered softly, brushing his fingers across whr forehead with a loving gentleness that instantly brought comfort to Y/n. When she didn't give any sign of hearing him, Louis chuckled quietly, grinning to himself. He opted for just carrying her inside, and so he scooped her up and cradled her small body to his warm chest. The tight embrace was enough for Y/n to cuddle into Louis' neck and wrap her arms around his shoulders, putting another smile on her dad's face.
As he locked the car and walked to the front door of the house, he kissed the top of Y/n's head and tucked some hair behind her ear.
"You don't have to pretend to be asleep for me to carry you, bug. I'll always hold you, you're forever my baby." Louis' soft words instantly brought a smile to Y/n, who'd been conscious the whole drive home.
