September 17th 1985 Arienna's POV I was finishing up my homework from math class after eating my leftover dinner my mom cooked yesterday. My mom was at her salon. My mom decided that Mariah should watch over the house but when I came home by riding the bus Mariah wasn't home. I knew she was going to come back at some point however I believed she shouldn't have left the house because someone could've robbed the house. Finally she came back home and I was furious where she was.
Arienna: where were you?! Someone could've robbed this house cause the door was unlocked. You didn't even take the keys with you
Mariah: Cause I knew you would've been locked out
Arienna: But still mom put you in charge for a reason. And besides where were you? You're suppose to be at Mezza Luna
Mariah: I auditioned for soul train and I got it. I got the part to play a solo dancer..just me. I don't have to have a partner like everyone else. I'm a soul train dancer now.
Arienna: Did don's producers tell you?
Mariah: Yeah. I had the chance to talk to Don Cornelius. I was so nervous. I thought I was dreaming but I was actually talking to him.
Arienna: How are you gonna work two jobs at the same time now?
Mariah: I'm gonna have to quit working at Mezza Luna. I can't miss a day being a soul train dancer.
Arienna: How are you gonna tell mom about this
Mariah: Don't worry. I know she's gonna be pissed but it's my life. But anyway how was school
Arienna: School has been great for me. I love school. Not because I'm a child star but because I don't have to go through racism in school like I did in Germany
Mariah: I understand.
Arienna: my new high school is amazing. I love it. Everyone is so nice and polite towards me. I love all of my teachers...a whole lot.
Mariah: how's your boyfriend doing?
Arienna: who Bobby? He's doing fine. We talked on the phone not too long ago. Why are you asking me about him?
Mariah: You know mom and I don't like your boyfriend Bobby. She thinks he's too wild for you. And I think he's a bad boy. Why couldn't you date that kid who you work with on the show-what's his name again-
Arienna: Malcom Jamal Warner. Malcom is a great kid but he's not my type. I can tell he has a crush on me already by the way he would look at me during rehearsals and on set.
Mariah: I prefer Malcom than Bobby. There's lots of rumors about Bobby. And you chose the crazy one in the group. Bobby brown...why didn't you pick Ralph or Ricky? Why did you have to pick the crazy one?
Arienna: Bobby is not the crazy one. Mike is. Him and Mike got into it because Mike was talking shit about me. Saying that I look like a duck but he's one of the most ugliest boys I've ever seen in my life. I look better than mike Bivins.
